Tangled

OMG! That Tangled preview was genius! I wish it were longer though, but ah well… I think we got to see enough. So Rapunzel’s mom could potentially be the villainess? Ooh, can’t wait to see how that turns out.
I wonder what those… floating lights she talks about are? Whatever they may be, I expect they’ll play an emotional role in the story.

Man, this thing is 27 pages long and the movie is still over a month away!

Anyway, yeah, that preview was great! I wish they had given us a snippet of the music though (I want to hear it soooo badly) or a bit more of the romantic scenes instead of just the humor scenes.

I discussed Tangled with my eighth grade English teacher today (The one who had us discuss the portrayal of race and gender in Disney movies before PATF came out, and of course I was the only one who knew enough about the subject to really make intelligent points. One of the guys even tried to claim that Disney made Tiana to “cover up the fact that they’re a racist company.” Uh, yeah. Sure. Oh, and he didn’t even know which old Disney movies actually had racist themes. He just thought they were racist because…everyone else did) and she said she thought Tangled looked like a fairy tale parody. She was really happy when I told her it wasn’t, that it was just being marketed that way.

I really wish we had heard some of the music also! I am very excited to hear it.

Those lanterns looked really beautiful. I can’t wait to fins out the secret behind them.

I really hope the music makes its way online before the movie comes out.

some music snippets would be very nice! I honestly would accept anything at this point though, I’m just so dang excited xD.

oh good, I do totally agree with you, her music these days is so…beautiful, and poetic. I thought you might of been mixing it up with something like this though. [url]Mandy Moore - Candy (Music Video) - YouTube shudders I really do not like that song. And I feel like my post came off a little too sarcastic and mean. So, I apologize for that :frowning:
Also- for anybody that can’t wait for Tangled merch as much as me, I wanted to show y’all some of this: [url]Amazon.com
it’s now available! And, the little golden book and junoir novelization will be available in a week…it’s going to be quite hard to stay away from those…will you guys be buying any of these?

Ooh! I totally forgot about the Little Golden Book adaption! Tempting as it is, I’m afraid I’ll wait until I’ve seen the movie before snatching it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Even though I’m looking forward to this movie, I have to admit that this is one of the worst pieces of marketing ever (and no, it’s not the trailer):

youtube.com/watch?v=ESMMMIViQdM

I…I can’t believe that was real. Wow. Ok, I understood Adventure Time spoofing it, but… REALLY, Disney? sigh

That was the worst, most unoriginal (at this point in recent years), viral piece used to promote a movie I’ve ever seen. What is wrong with Disney’s marketing department? Not much thought what so ever went into this. I wish I could sit in on the marketing departments meeting to see how they came up with this.

I don’t mean to be rude, but that was obviously a stupid fan made video. Look at the other video on that user. I’m sorry but I’m not sure why you would think it was real.

And if it is real, well, it was so bad I thought it was fake. :open_mouth:

I’m not sure if it’s real or fake. I’m inclined to think it’s real because there seem to be some shots in the video that don’t appear in the trailer (I may be wrong).

As a video, fan-made or not, I didn’t find it that bad. A bit out of place for the setting though.

EDIT- OH I SEEEE! It’s based on an advert I’ve never seen before! I get it… kind of!

Apparently it was posted on the official Disney Facebook page.

Awww, don’t worry woody. I never even felt that you came across as sarcastic and mean in your post, so it’s okay. :3 HUGS

LOL, I actually saw that on Facebook just a few minutes ago. xD It’s actually a parody of a really popular youtube video. But anyway guys, don’t take this TOO seriously. In a few weeks from now Disney’s going to release a new and a way better trailer that’ll hopefully do the movie justice, and everyone’s going to put this to rest.

(Though shamefully, I actually LOLed a bit throughout that video. :S Does that make me a terrible Disney fan? ;____; lol)

I LOLed a little bit too! Admittedly it was because I was unaware of the video it’s based on, so I thought the whole thing was just one big non-sequiter, haha.

I WAS ON MY BUTT CRACKING UP. It’s not the best marketing strategy, but man, Zach is absolutely hilarious. I guess this makes me a super horrible Disney fan  ha, oh well. I really enjoyed it :stuck_out_tongue:

yay! hugs you’re one of my online besties so I really didn’t want you to be angry at me for any reason…

Amen to that sister! I cannot wait until they actually release new footage!

Ah…now that I understand it, that’s actually kind of funny.

Hahahaha, I found that video to be pretty funny.
Imagine Flynn saying, “A double-- single tower! I have to climb it!”
Do any of you have any idea [spoil]who that girl was who said hello to Flynn as he was climbing the tower?[/spoil]

Nice new animation, as well. Even though it may not end up in the movie. XD

I think that would be [spoil]Mother Gothel[/spoil].

Wow, that viral piece kinda ruined it for me. I know they’re trying to spice it up with a modern twist, but it’d just confuse the audience of the time period and all that (you have to assume that the average moviegoer is ignorant of the plot). Not to mention it’s too similar to the Toy Story 3 Security Cam video in some parts.

From the looks of the teaser, some shots are the same as the ones in the trailer, just from a different angle. Like when Rapunzel hits Flynn over the head-in the trailer you can’t see her properly, but in this you can.

I like the way the tower and mountains/ hills look like. There’s a sense of depth to it, and it does look quite painterly. I know that there was a lot of talk about making the film look like a painting, but the characters still look quite Bolt-like. I don’t mind though, it still looks like it could be quite an attractive film to look at.

Wait guys, I just realized something…

What if that was the new trailer? :open_mouth:
