Tangled

Wow, that’s really deep. Now I really, really, really, want to see this. Really. :frowning:

whistles This is a little story. By me. About Flynn. Growing up. Maybe y’all want to…check it out, ya know, just if ya feel like it…

I have no idea about the validity of this footage or if it’ll even still be there once you click on this link, but it’s apparently clips of the pre-viz for the the movie back when it was still very close to being the movie that TDIT was speaking about.

I’ve been wondering what that movie might have been like if Rapunzel Unbraided had moved forward. Now with this clip I have something of an idea.

That link is, well interesting aerostarmonk! I have to say I love the San Francisco scene, becuase I loooooove San Francisco! But I’m glad that’s not the route they took.

I finally saw it. I was completely mesmerized straight from the beginning.
It by far surpassed my expectations.
Flynn and Rapunzel are my new favorite Disney couple.
I’m just totally blown away.
That’s what I expected from Disney, though. Nothing but the best.

heehee rock-itpop, you sound just like me! I’m glad it was worth your mon-ay!

It was definitely worth it.
I’d go see it again in a heartbeat.
And let me just say, if I were Rapunzel, I wouldn’t have been able to resist the smoulder. :stuck_out_tongue:

My mom says I can go with a friend, but only if I clean the whole house alone. Not likely. :frowning:

I really don’t feel like writing out a whole review right now, but I just want to let you know that I loved it  I still haven’t decided if it’s in the top 5 Disney movies for me, but I did enjoy it more than Toy Story 3.

Yay!! I get the feeling I will too.

Dude, I just saw Tangled! It is my favorite Disney Movie now! (note: I didn’t say favorite Pixar movie)

Oh my gosh, I loved it, the characters, the story, the music, everything! It was just truely epic!

I decided to go see it because a friend of mine asked me to see it with them. We both wish it could have been 2D but format aside, we both liked it. It was very cute and very adorable. I was pleasantly surprised. Another good Disney Princess story.

I see this tomorrow when my mom comes back from her catshow, and we’re gonna try seeing it with my best friend’s family too! We did this last year with Princess and the Frog. Cannot contain levels of excitement!!

this would be nice to have…

Man, I would love to have that!

drools :open_mouth: I want that.

I am getting really anxious. No one will see this with me, and I can’t go by myself. :frowning: I’ll have to wait for the DVD, which my parents will then not get. :frowning: I hate this so much…

^ Aw, sorry to hear that, Virginia. :frowning: I sure hope you’ll be able to see it soon!

Ladies and gentlemen, I have a confession to make.
You see, I am a teenage male. Not allowed to go to the movies alone. My dad hates animated Disney fairy tale musicals. My mom hates animated films. My sister hates movies in general. None of my friends would be caught dead seeing it. I had no options. But I still was anxious to watch it and am a pretty impatient person.
[size=59]So I watched it online[/size]

Despite this evil, evil decision which I regret, I still plan to purchase the Bluray ASAP.

Anyways…

I thought it was a solid movie overall. Nothing particularly great, but still very enjoyable. The animation was definitely the strong point of the film (as far as I could tell), which is why I can’t wait to watch it in 1080p to actually enjoy it completely. The characters weren’t the most original (Flynn was kind of bland in my opinion) but they bounced off of each other really well. The songs were pretty good, especially I See the Light among others, and the score fit the movie well.
As for the flaws…the story, while engaging, felt very rushed. For example, after [spoil]getting out of the tower, walking around a little, meeting some thugs and having a brief chase sequence, Rapunzel boasts about how she’s been on a “huge adventure where she’s learned so much”. In addition Rapunzel and Flynn were risking their lives for each other and completely in love just day(s) after they met. I guess you could excuse it as being Romeo & Juliet style young naive love, but it still bugged me a bit.[/spoil] I think adding a couple of days to the movie’s timeline, maybe shortening/removing a song or two and increasing the run time could’ve helped flesh out the character development a little more. Still, it wasn’t an awful problem, and certainly didn’t completely ruin the movie for me.

Overall, I thought it was easily Disney’s most enjoyable movie in a while, better than The Princess and the Frog. I can’t wait to pay $30 like a good, moral person to watch it in its intended form (sorry).

Thanks. :frowning:

Bryko: Your family hates cartoons, too? You’re like my male counterpart.

Anyway, I really hope to see this, despite the unlikeliness.

:astonished:

It’s so much better to watch it in theaters though. The quality sucks when you watch it online. Plus it’ll ruin the whole movie experience, I think.

Anyway, I can definitely agree with you about the plot feeling rushed and the characters lacking originality. That’s actually how I felt like too when I watched it at first. The movie, while I loved it so much, definitely had other flaws in it that I already brought up in my full review on my blog, but I’ll have to disagree about the [spoil]love story. I actually felt like Flynn and Rapunzel’s relationship was much better developed compared to any of the other official Disney pairings that we’ve seen. They went from being on wrong terms with each other, to caring about each other, to eventually falling in love. [/spoil]This is exactly the reason why I can’t stand pairings like Snow White/The Prince or Prince Charming/Cinderella, for example. For official pairings like those, there was absolutely no development, no interaction, no mutual respect and no chemistry. I felt that Flynn and Rapunzel definitely had all of that though.

As for it expanding it and adding more days, I’d agree except there’s only so many things that you can fit into a 100 minute time slot, so them [spoil]falling in love in two days[/spoil] didn’t really bother me. I mean, for one thing, they’re teenagers, so it’s understandable. For another, I think it would have been a lot worse if Disney added a more classic ending where [spoil]they ended up getting married right away which then would have seemed very rushed, but they actually didn’t. At the end of the film, it’s implied that they’ve been dating for years until Flynn asks her hand in marriage. At first, I was actually a bit bummed when they decided to exclude the wedding scene, but after reading the Art of Book, I can totally understand why Disney didn’t include it. It would have been too predictable.[/spoil]
