Has anyone ever seen part of a Pixar film and been reminded of something?
Perhaps somethings you experienced or heard of, or something you drew or just thought of at that point?
Violet reminds me of myself, physically and mentally, which is why she is my favorite Pixar character.
When Linguini uttered [spoil]“rat patooty” during his rant in Skinner’s office[/spoil], I immediately thought of a joke between me and Dash. ![]()

Eh, only thing I can recall is Radiator Springs at night (the desert part) reminded me of Hills Have Eyes. xD
Ha! Oh yeah, that’s happened to me lots of times! You see, my sister and I are the queens of jokes, and we’ll often invent these ridiculous and/or hilarious little things/spoofs that make people look at us like we’re from the planet Mars. The funny thing is that, every once in a while, we’ll find our jokes incorporated into Pixar films, as uncanny as that may seem. Here’s a decent list of the things my sister and I have done that can also be seen in Pixar films:
1. In Cars, during the first race sequence, Lightning McQueen narrowly ties for the win by sticking his tongue out at the last second. My sister and I did something exactly like this, only under slightly sillier circumstances.
2. In Monsters, Inc., Randall explains to Mike that he only has until a certain amount of time to return Boo to her bedroom. He illustrates this fact by manipulating Mike’s arms so that they resemble the hands of a clock situated behind them. This whole “arm puppet” deal was exercised (on me) by my sister at one point in her lifetime in that she twisted my arms in the exact same position as Wazowski’s. It hurt like heck, I can tell you…
3. In Monsters, Inc., Mike foolishly blinds himself with a healthy dose of lemon spray. I did the same thing once, and that also hurt like heck.
4. In Toy Story 2, Ham flips through the channels on Andy’s tv at a hundred miles per hour and is still able to recognize every single channel/commercial as it flashes by. I can do the same thing, even though many people think that I’m crazy for doing it.
5. As brothers, there are certain little things that Remy and Emile do together that often remind me of silly antics that my sister and I practice (ie., [spoil]climbing on top of a roof to cook something and getting struck my lightning in the process[/spoil]; not that this ever happened to us, but we could probably relate to the incident – heheh).
6. In Ratatouille, [spoil]Remy gets all flustered at one point due to the fact that his brother has brought his hungry friends to the restaurant against Remy’s wishes. The way he blows up about it and openly complains to Gusteau his dilemma is pretty reminiscent of similar instances that have arised in relation to my sister and I.[/spoil]
7. In The Incredibles, Violet and Dash often have rather murderous scuffles. My sister and I used to get pretty riled up, too…
8. In Ratatouille, Remy [spoil]made these rather hilarious expressions of annoyance every time he was “forced” to obtain food from the kitchens so as to feed Emile and his ever-growing collection of partners.[/spoil] I can completely relate to that. Eheh.
I seem to recall that there was a moment in Finding Nemo that was reminiscent of something my sister and I did, but I can’t seem to extract it from my memory.
Edit: Whoop! I remember it…
9. In Finding Nemo, Dory attempts to communicate to a monsterous blue whale by speaking “whale talk”. My sister and I did the same thing when we were younger, only we…umm…barked like dogs. We got pretty good at it, too, despite the fact that we didn’t know what the heck we were saying. I used to converse with the neighborhood dogs at night, and I distinctly remember having a lengthy conversation with this one cocker spaniel for approxiamately two hours straight. I don’t know what I said to the dude, but whatever I stated made that pooch hate me for the rest of his life… (snigger)

Well, here are mine.
Incredibles
Violet reminds me of my girlfriend.
The fights that Dash and VIolet have remind me of my sibling fights at home.
Helen reminds me of my mom.
The Incredibles remind me of the Fantastic Four.
The part where Bob throws the football/remtoe at Dash reminds me of the times I played football with my dad.
Insuricare reminds me of my english class, dull and boring.
Edna Mode reminds me of my Drama teacher at school, demanding, powerful, and short.
And that is all I can name for now. More shall come later.
There are some really funny ones for me too. Here are the ones that the most right now (there are more):
1-In Ratatouille, [spoil]Remy’s job as “poison checker” reminded me of two things, one that to some extent this really happens. In the wild rats will test something to make sure it’s safe before eating it by first smelling it to make sure nothing bad happens, then licking it and then if that’s safe they’ll take a bite out of it and repat this gradually increasing their exposure until they reach the conclusion that it’s safe and finish eating it. When someone with allergies is trying something they aren’t sure of they have to do something similar to ensure they will not have a full-blown allergic reaction, because of the similarities this is commonly called “the rat test” (both my mother and I have allergies so this is something we are very familier with). I suppose you could say that Remy is the first stage test for the entire coleny and is reliable to the point where it is the only stage nesisary[/spoil].
2-The other thing is that my mom tutors while earning her psycology degree and as such visits the comunity center often because alot of her students like it there. Well this community center is prone to minor gas leaks so she’ll often come in and be the only one who notices that there’s a problem.

Minichuchan: Now that you mentioned it, I think I can relate to [spoil]Remy’s job as the poison checker in Ratatouille[/spoil]. Like you said that people with alleries have to take some precautions in order to prevent a alleric reaction. Well, that job reminds me of my twin brother. I am allergic to peanuts. When I see a food product that I don’t trust, I let my bro try it out for be before I do.

Okay, firstly, a little spoiler tagging in those last two posts would be good.
And about the scenes in Pixar films that remind us of stuff? Hmm…Nothing comes immediately to mind, although, for some reason, Al from Toy Story 2 always reminds me of that rather large guy from Jurassic Park- the one who steals the dinosaur embryos. They look and sound very similar! I’d better check and see if he actually voices Al. ![]()
The general aura of Monsters, Inc. also reminds me of something. Well, not of anything in particular; more just a general atmosphere- it’s so jazzy and sort of 60’s, and I saw a different film ages ago that had the same kind of theme.
Nothing else really, apart from that. ![]()
LG - That is the same guy. I love that character in Jurassic Park. ![]()
And yes, please use spoiler tags, people!
I remember another thing now- Crush the sea turtle reminds me of my painting teacher I had for that SVA summer program. xD Spoke just like him.
And the little old lady in Ratatouille looks like my aunt, but [spoil]my aunt’s never handled a gun[/spoil]. xD
Well one thing off the top of my head is from Finding Nemo when Crush says “Goo, goo, ga-cho” which is a line from the Beatles song I Am The Walrus. So that line made me laugh out loud. Whether or not that’s where they got it from I dont know, but that’s definitely what it reminds me of
lizardgirl - Like rachel stated, Wayne Knight played both characters. ![]()
Haha! Cool! ![]()
lennonluvr9 - So that’s where they may have gotten that Crush line from! Heh. Awesome…
– Mitch
lennonluvr9: Actually, now that you mention it that line reminds me of a song, too, although a different one, “Mrs. Robinson” by Simon & Garfunkel. Guess I didn’t think of it because I saw the movie before I heard the song, so the reminding is kind of the other way around. I’m fairly certain that it’s “Coo Coo Kachoo,” though, instead of with the G’s. I’ll have to check with the subtitles on one of these days.
Most of the time I can’t put my finger on particular scenes, but sometimes the way characters move or make expressions strikes a chord like I’ve seen it somewhere else before.
Although there was one scene of Ratatouille where Remy made this kinda shocked face in profile, and it really reminded me of one of the same expressions Justin made in the Secret of NiMH. I guess it kinda struck me as odd since those rats had a much different design, but still managed to make the same face.
I was watching Cars, and all of the Piston Cup opening scene reminded me of the opening Football game earlier tonight.
My gosh, I think I know what you’re talking about. I thought that one of those expressions of Remy’s looked familiar, as well! Shocking…
The Star Swordsman - Haha! That’s hilarious. ![]()
– Mitch
I don’t see what is so funny about it Mitch. ![]()
The Star Swordsman - Heh. I dunno. I laugh at anything. My sister said the word “pencil” once and I cracked up… Ignore me. ![]()
But back on-topic…
– Mitch
Actually, it might seem a little funny because the Piston Cup, there were millions of racing fans watching. At the football game, there were millions of Colts/Saints fans watching.
