Well, seeing the popularity of the Power Rangers in one of the other topics, it seems best to
start a Power Rangers Topic here!
Discuss your favorite PR memories, stories, etc!! Any toys,
collectibles you still have?
Did you get any of the those VHS?? Any of the new DVDs??
Who still
watches?? Anyone like the yearly-themes??
Finally, who was your favorite Ranger and favorite years!!
Fun! I actually never watched Power
Rangers, but I do remember when they were popular and some of my friends watched it. We would make up our own
Power Rangers and play that way. I remember being “The Light Blue Ranger” and we had a Silver Ranger
(I think later there really was a Silver Ranger, but we were first).
I grew up on the original
series: Jason, Trini, Zack, Billy, Tommy, and Kimberly (my favorite!). My friends and I used to pretend to be the
Power Rangers during recess. Of course, I was Kimberly. I even had a guy friend who wore glasses - he was always
Billy. Every so often, if I find six teens in spandex karate-chopping monsters during my channel-surfing, I’ll
stop and watch it - I’m fascinated that they’re still around… it’s almost been 15 years, which makes me feel
old.
I grew up on the original series as
well: I even remember them changing Jason,Trini, and Zach for three newbies . . . I forget their names. Was one
of them Adam??
Anyways, I loved the whole Green Ranger/White Ranger dilemna and I remember the whole
Tommy/Kimberely love theme. I actually watched until Zeo . . . Zeo wasn’t that bad. I actually rather liked
it.
But Tommy was no longer White . . . he was Red with the star face!
My favorite part of the Zeo
. . . the background of the Powerstation (what was that place called again?) had all the old suits/weapons of the
original series, and I always thought that was nice continutiy.
I don’t see that now-a-days in the new
series.

Same here. I only watched the
first season or whatever it was. I loooved the whole evil Tommy thing. There was so much tension between Tommy
and Kimberly (true love!), and I was so happy when they got together. Ah, good times.
I can’t remember if
the one I watched was the original… but I do remember liking the pink ranger. I have a sister and she had
always said that she liked the yellow ranger but it has been revealed that she was letting me have the pink
ranger even though it was secretly her favorite too… sniff <3 Yeah. This series is amazing to uphold that
kinda love.
I really got excited when the power rangers all… er… morphed? together. And I
remember I used to get the McDonalds toys and play with them all the time. I remember the red ranger being
particularly fun…
The current yearly things is a little lame… and it’s not as fun when there is only
like 3 rangers. Oh and the wise hamster/gerbil thing is kinda odd. I do like however that the special effects
remain the same. They always look so fake yet it’s still fun to watch.
Actually, I remember
Post-9/11 they got rid of most of those “huge Monster recking Angel Grove Scene Buildings”
Scenes.
And I also remember during Ninja Storm (the one with the gerbil) that Tommy actually came back to
mentor the new rangers!!
Lol I don’t watch
Power Ranger consistantly enough to know what they do and don’t do anymore… but I thought they still destroyed
buildings. Guess not. They do still use those spark things for explosions don’t they? I think it would be funny
to film… because you can’t see their faces and they are always nodding their heads and going
“Right!” and hop to it.
There’s too many Power Rangers series… I only know the original and
like… ninja.
I don’t know… I actually watched a pretty good number
of those Tommy-as-mentor episodes (I’m a big one for nostalgia), and I didn’t see any gerbils… according to
imdb.com, the series he mentored in (and pulled double-duty as the black ranger) is called Dino
Thunder…
JamieLew, about the “Right!” screaming: I found
this on YouTube. It’s called Super Strong Warner Siblings,
a spot-on - and I really mean spot-on - parody of the original series…
I used to like the Power Rangers. (Yes, I did) But now i really don’t care. I like their
openings to all of the episodes.
I used to watch Power Rangers all the time when I was little.
I also used to call all
motorcyclists I saw, Power Rangers.

AHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Wow, Thanks for that KyrieEleison - it was a very good
reminder of two very fond childhood memories.
I especially liked the end… the "Don’t play with
bugs" part… ahah. Silly maniacs…
Well you
probably know better than I, KE . . . .
