The Ant Bully

I wanted to bring up my current HUGE non-Pixar obsession, The Ant Bully. It’s

such a cute movie, and it has a sends a good message. And the character and set design is excellent!

I

know lots of people are kinda looking the other way on it, what with it being yet another ant-themed movie and

all, but I don’t care. It has become one of my favorite animated movies.

I’m even working on a

continuation of the movie in a fan comic. Dash has provided me with a genius plotline. ^__~

So what are

your thoughts on The Ant Bully? I’m sure many people will want to compare it to A Bug’s Life. And feel free

to!

~~=oP

Looked ‘eh’ to me… I’ll rent it on Pay-Per-View when it comes to it. Unfortunately I’m harder on movies

then you are…

I like the animation and designs though.

I know they’ve kind of gone down a slightly different route with The Ant Bully by

including a human child in it, but exactly how similar or different is it from both A Bug’s Life and Antz?

When I first saw the previews, my first thought was, Wow! Someone’s ripping off Dreamworks films

now! Never thought THAT would happen!

Yeah, the character designs look alot like tribal

versions of the ants from Antz, another film I didn’t go see.

Hey, I’m a PIXAR kind of guy . . . I’m

spending my money to the filmmakers I know will give me a great movie (PLUS a short, teaser, and hopefully a

great DVD). Kinda prejudiced, I know . . . but hey, I like what I like . . . .

I haven’t seen it, but I plan to eventually. Zoc (the ant

voiced by Nicolas Cage) looks awfully cute. He’s the only reason I want to see it.

It’s really a cute movie. Good anmation and the story is

better than you would expect and it grows on you. You have to suspend disbelief some but in some ways it’s

still a very real movie - I’m looking forward to hopefully seeing it again soon and hopefully this time in IMAX.

Yep yep. And ya know what? It all makes sense after

listening to your idea for a sequel. ^__~

Wish I had a chance to see it in IMAX though.

:frowning:

Way too harsh on a movie that they havent seen. I went to

this movie cause there was nothing else animated in the theater, turns out… it’s really good, I liked it. it’s

just cute. I dont think anyone as any say on to how they think the movie is without seeing… it pretty much goes

for any movie.

That’s true . . . it’s the

whole “judge the book by the cover syndrome”. But I know what I like . . . and I realy don’t want to

risk the chance on seeing a bad movie, I guess . . .

I like the fact that someone spent

time to make this movie, I find it inspiring that a group of people who have a passion for this art. use it to

make at least “something” They tried… and whos to say if the succedded or not. I’d say they succeded

in doing what they love…it’s hard to look past what we want to see, and instead see a whole other side…who

ever said making a movie was easy never walked a mile in a filmmakers shoes. And I stand by in beleving in this

stuff… and I’ll stand up for any movie critics put down, and I’ll stand up for these guys to any one who will

judge their work… there’ should be no assuming… I found myself too thinking not very highley of this movie

because of the commercials… I too almost fell into that trap.

Honestly, it sounds like you know what to be!

I don’t want to spend ten bucks on a movie that’s “just cute”. Going to the cinema

is expensive - that’s why I’m picky.

it’sa shame movies cost so much there, heck it’s 5.25 a pop here… and they just added that 25 cents for…

uhh I dunno what reason.

Now, this is

why I’m with the Orange network- '2 cinema tickets for the price of one, every Wednesday! Hence Orange

Wednesdays!’ Though, it’s still very expensive just for one ticket.

I’m not going to see Ant

Bully, but I do respect it as a film- those that created it are quite brave to go into the same sort of genre

again. Maybe they felt they would have more success than A Bug’s Life and Antz.

I want to see it, but if I do I might sneak into Monster House afterwards. Since I

wanna see both of them but the movies are rather expensive =P

I think

we all know who we want to be… I dont think people mean to be so negitive you know? But whos really to say any

of this stuff is negitive or possitive, I dont consider this being Possitive… but it’s just teh truth. this

film in nature will be forezen forever in time, as every film will be, as the creators will be, as we will be,

and I think it is within my obligation and privlage to ensure I reliaze how important it is for me to give credit

to those who try hard to do what they love… especially because that’s exactly what everyone wants to do.

It;s

from the director of Jimmy Neutron also! ANd bought to you by the people who made SUPERMAN RETURNS!

Oh my goodness I used to love Jimmy Neutron. Lol.

Although it had a somewhat odd and cheesy storyline… it was a cute movie.

It’s not

just cute. It IS rated PG, ya know. :stuck_out_tongue: Of course, that may be due to the fact

that Lucas is completely naked for a whole scene. How embarrassing for him.

But anyway, it’s a

clever, fun movie that happens to have an awesome soundtrack that I listen to everyday. Seriously. I

can’t wait to watch it again, whenever that may be.

Again, I like the animation and designs and it’s

been getting decent reviews, so I’ll check it out at a second-run theater or on DVD. I barely have time to go to

the movies anyway, nowadays… :frowning:
