The Art of little_chef (and her sis)

That is absolutely adorable, little chef  ! I’m sure mo’s gonna LOVE it  ! That’s too, too cute! Very, very well done.

And the one of Nolan is adorable, as well  ! That’s Linguini’s son, huh? Wow. I would’ve never guessed… :unamused: Just kidding! I actually thought is was him at first. Great job with that. The only critique I have for that one is maybe you should make him look just a little bit less like Linguine so they look like father and son instead of twins. But that’s just my opinion, and I’m not perfect. But it’s a great drawing none-the-less. Keep up the great work  ! Man, I need to get me some Photoshop   .

Ah, it looks soooo awesome now! As everybody seems to have predicted already, I love it! It was so nice of you to go out of your way and make me a present. Great work. The quality is great. It’s honestly one of the nicest presents somebody’s ever gotten for me. <3

I’m still thinking of what to do for your birthday present. I’m starting to get an idea.

Aww, I’m so glad that everyone, including mo, thought it looked awesome. I really had a lot of fun doing it, even though I crammed all the work into one afternoon… it came out remarkably well for my 2nd time doing a finished drawing in Photoshop!

Oh, I can’t wait to see what you’ll make for my late bday present, mo! You’re so creative, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Right now I’m in the process of drawing out my ideas for all the WALL•E characters as humans in one file instead of splitting them up and posting them individually. Although I have been influenced on many levels by the work of deviantARTist BechnoKid, the interpretations I’ve done of the WALL•E characters are in no way meant to resemble hers in any way, shape, or form. Just thought I’d throw that out there, cuz they way I’m laying out the file is very reminiscent of her page of humanized WALL•E doodles (a link to that was featured here in this thread by Mitch a few pages back…).

So far it’s coming out really nice; I have WALL•E, EVE and M-O done and will start work on AUTO next. After that I have all 7 reject bots (A.K.A. ā€œThe Splatsā€) to add in, and then I’ll post it for you guys to look at. I’ve drawn them all in the computer with my tablet, and now that I’ve done it a couple times, it’s getting easier and easier.

So you have that to look forward to!

little chef

Not usually a fan of humanized characters unless they’re done really well, (PV’s Guido and Luigi are fantastic, but her Lightning doesn’t seem to fit what I would expect, still good though) but I’m kinda anxious to see what you come up with! I love the characters from Wall•E, and the film itself has been really growing on me lately. It’s gonna be cool to see your interpretation!

ffdude1906: Yeah, I am kinda getting sick of seeing so many humanizations on deviantART, but I feel that my designs have enough character in them to be worth posting - not to be tooting my own horn of course. Plus, when you’ve truly had some bonding time with these guys, your love for them really shows when you draw them out, and it sheds all new light on the characters from that artist’s POV. Plus, my sister claims the way I draw them in my style is so adorable, and she’s assured me it doesn’t resemble BechnoKid’s stuff. wipes sweat off brow

I’m glad you’re anxious to see them - I’m anxious to get them done, 'cuz they look pretty great so far!

little chef

Finally got my WALL•E character montage finished!! Go check it out… it came out pretty awesome, imho.

You’ll also see all of the reject bots (a.k.a: the Splats) as humans in there too, so don’t forget to read the artist’s comments to see who is who.

I’m freakin’ proud of this. I think the coloring and line art and everything came out spectacular… not to toot my own horn of course, I’m just saying… :stuck_out_tongue:

Enjoy!

little chef

aww it’s so cute little_chef!

They look great! I really like your style of drawing. I don’t know exactly what it is, but it’s really great!

I love your adaptations of the characters. Quick question, what’s the thing M-O is holding? I can’t really tell. VA-QM seems a bit generic as well, but I don’t think I could really come up with anything special for him either, so no worries! Hehe. My faves are Wall•E, BRL•A, and HAN•S. Excellent job, and I love your style!

I absolutely love your WALL•E drawing with all the characters, and the fact that you gave them human names (I’ve actually done that too! ). My favorites in particular are Perdi Collins and Bella Klocek. I also like how you used the names of Hello, Dolly! characters for Wally and Eve’s last names.

By the way, if you want to know my human names for my WALL•E cast, go check them out in my thread ā€œFan Art that is JustSoWall-eCrazyā€.

I love your interpretations, little_chef, the wait was worth it! I like how you embodied the characters’ personalities through their facial features, expressions, and clothing!

My favourites are Wally Hackl, Alex O’ Neill, Vin Deamer, Van Haskell (Really like how he’s about to sneeze), Perdie Collins, Debbie Shuster, Hans Kaufman and GO-4. How did you come up with their names?

Anyway, yeah, spotted the Hello Dolly reference too, and I love the shading. Your art has a very cartoony but natural style to it. No criticisms I can think of, so keep up the great work. You have a knack for personifying the robots of the film.

woody: Thank you!

mo: Aww, thank you! It’s so sweet you like my style. Maybe it’s just one of those styles that are really fun to look at…?

ffdude1906: Oh, M-O is holding a motorized mop of sorts with a fluid hose attached to it. Since these are just head/torso shots, it was really hard to add a lot of the outfit details in. Yeah, I have to admit VAQ-M (Van) was really hard to come up with a design for, but I think I like it. He’s so adorable…!

Bahhh, I love Hans. He was probably my favorite to draw.

JustSoWall-eCrazy: Isn’t it fun to come up with names for them? I’m glad you like Bella - for some reason I thought no one was going to like her, and I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s cuz most people imagine BRL-A as a guy. Maybe there are guy and girl BRL-As…?

Ohh, I’ve seen your drawings, and I apologize for not commenting on them, but they are adorable! You were very creative with the names, as well!

TDIT: Thank you! I really wish I had more room to actually draw out all of their outfits in full, 'cuz it really helps express their personalities.

About the names, I don’t really know… I just thought about the way the robotic names sounded and tried putting a more human version on it. Most of the last names actually came from the names of Pixarians who worked on The Art of WALL•E (e.g.: Shuster, Deamer, Collins, Klocek… among others). The only ones who do not have this reference are Alex O’Neill, Lina Kessler, Hans Kaufman (they’re half-siblings!), and Van Haskell.

And yeah, I was talking with my friend once about WALL•E and Hello, Dolly! and we both reasoned that WALL•E acts almost exactly like Cornelius Hackl and EVE is a lot like Irene Molloy, in a way. :stuck_out_tongue: So that’s where I came up with the last names for them.

Glad you guys liked them! Unfortunately, I actually thought they’d get a bit more attention over at dA… :frowning:

My next project is going to be adorable. I’m on a WALL•E kick right now, so you can probably guess the happy couple I drew… <3

little chef

Argh, why didn’t I spot the Shuster, Deamer reference? The other last names, I’m not familiar, but I know the first two (I love their art!). Very slick, little_chef!

A couple picture? I can’t wait… hope it’s a robot version, though I guess I wouldn’t mind your humanised interpretations either, since they’re pretty awesome!

Well, while you guys are waiting for this stupid procrastinator to finish said promised WALL•E x EVE picture, enjoy a couple sketches I did of our favorite robotic vegetation probe as a human. (And I know I ask you this every time, but just to make sure it happens - please full-view and make sure to read through the artist’s comments; I usually explain a lot about what I’ve drawn there.)

little chef

Wow! She looks great! Well, what I’m gonna say, you’re drawings always blew me away!

Thank you, wannabechef! You’re so sweet… I’m glad you like her design!

little chef

I love those sketches! It’s delightful and cute!

Ooh, more humanised awesomeness! Well, I liked your portraits of her with the musings in the side. My favourite is the one of her in Alex’s arms (although, like you mentioned, it was weird without Wall-E). The one of her shocked expression when she sees Wall-E is good too (and having read that chapter, I know its significance). Love the detail on the helmet.

Not much I can criticise artistic-wise, since your artwork is sort of… critic-proof. I mean, it’s hard to find faults with your style, since you’re quite good with human anatomy already. Maybe a suggestion I would give is that you try to vary your human face shapes, so try more extremes: a Brandon McCrea-style round one, a Bob Parr square-jawed, and maybe an Anton-Ego-cucumber one, for instance. I saw you attempt that with your humanised Wall-E montage, so just keep working at variety.

I absolutely can’t wait for your couple pic! I’m hoping it’ll be a robotic version, although like I said, if it’s human, I bet it’ll be just as spectacular! I can’t recall your gallery, but have you tried drawing the original robot versions? You’re pretty close to mastering the human form in your own distinct style, so I’d like to see that ā€˜style’ applied to their metallic forms. Again, just a suggestion, you’re free to give it a try or not.

And yes, I, too, miss my handbook and pencil so much. Sigh The end of term couldn’t come any sooner.

Hey! Eve looks great! Probably some of the best interpretations I’ve seen(even though I don’t look at that much fan art). Ha, I love the maintenance one. I just think that expression is priceless. And the helmet looks great. You really did a great job with all of these drawings. You’re, like, really talented at drawing. And is the lightbulb still lighting up even though Eve is human now?

BDD: Thank you! They were a lot of fun to draw!!

TDIT: I didn’t feel like I put enough detail into that helmet; but like I mentioned, the simplistic design makes it effective. And I’m sure you could find at least something to critique about my stuff; I’m not all that critique-proof as you claim I am! You never fail to make me feel good about myself, so I thank you sincerely for all the encouragement.

Well, this current couple pic is in human-form, but I’m sure you’ll still find it endearing. I mean, who could resist a sweet face like Wally’s?! Seriously. I wanna grab him out of the page and kiss him.

mo: I actually drew the maintenance one the day I hurt my neck, so I’m surprised it came out that good, despite the pain I was in. And aww, thank you! Haha, I thought about the whole lightbulb thing after I finished all the drawings. I’m kinda like, ā€œWell, that’s where the irony is, I guess… the fact that she can still make it work even though she’s a human.ā€ Plus, I just love that shot and I wanted to make it a little bit different.

You should search deviantART for ā€œwalle humanizationsā€ or something, 'cuz you’ll turn up a ton of other versions of EVE. Only then will you be able to say with certainty that you like mine the best. :stuck_out_tongue: Haha…
