Lucky you, Martin! It sounds like a dream to look at. I can’t wait to see the production artwork for Lifted, and all of the other shorts.
Heck yahh! Im so getting this, although i wish it had a release date.
Nice review, martini! It really does sound like a must-have book for any Pixar fan.
CMB- At the end of martini’s review, he says that the book will be available on the 25th of February, so not too long to go!
Thanks lizardgirl i see that now.
Great review martini833! I like the indepth detail you provided, def. helped me decide whether or not i’d like to purchase this book, in which case i defenately do!

Ah man, I can’t wait for this book! If I get it I’ll probably get the art of Wall-E book as well.
I get paid tomorrow, if i have the extra cash i think imna get myself a copy!
The book is finally out on Amazon → The Art of Pixar Short Films
Woo hooo!
I must say that I like the red cover better. Wonder why they changed it at the end.
All of them since Monsters Inc. have had concept art on the cover. Having actual stills would have broken the combo.
Yeah, I’m with Fett101 on this, I like the consistency of using concept art on every cover especially as it shows that the people at Pixar are real artists. Thanks for the link, parka! It’s not as expensive as I thought it’d be, so I’m rather tempted now.
parka- I used to feel that way too, but trust me, once you actually have the book in your hands, you’ll appreciate the Luxo art so much more. It’s beautiful!
I just put my order through on Amazon, along with the Art of Wall-E and a Wall-E poster. I can’t wait!
I went out and bought the book. There’s great writeup but somehow I felt the art wasn’t enough. Anyway, there’s a short review on my blog, with more pictures of the book.
Edited. With the exception of book covers, please refrain from posting images of the interiors of novels, magazines, coffee table books, and other, similar media. Thank you. – Mitch
Nice review, parka. It’s a shame that the book isn’t crammed with artwork and that’s pretty weird that all the writing was at the beginning and the art at the end- did that mean that the stuff the writing was referring to had to be looked up in the back? It would’ve been less awkward to merge it all together. But the pictures you’ve posted of it look good, and I’m pleased you enjoyed it nonetheless.
There’s no need to refer to the back. The writing is on the stories of them making the films. Sadly, there are no other captions for the art other than credits.
Exciting!
