The Avengers (2012)

I still think Ed Norton’s the best Hulk we’ve got…so far.
The Avengers are, in movie terms, missing characters such as Black Panther, Wasp and Ant-man, and if you wanna be all Marvel-extensive about it, the Maximoff siblings, Ms. Marvel, and The Vision (phew!) But I think the narrowed- down group serves the movie better.
And though I don’t want to sound racist, isn’t Maria Hill African-American? In the movie she’s being played by Cobie Smulders. (Yup. That’s how she avenged your mother.) I wonder what’s up with that.
Also, I hope that Black Widow does get together with Capt. America. It would make me feel a lot better about his sad, unfollowed relationship with Peggy Carter. :frowning:

I haven’t seen the second Hulk film so I don’t know how Ed Norton is in it.

I think Maria Hill was black in one animated series, but that’s it. She’s been white in most comic books.

Just like the ultimate version of Nick Fury (an in the films) he’s African American, but in previous comics he always was Caucasian.

I personally like Cobie Smulders.

Wait, Loki as the Main villain? So there are more? Oh boy, that’s gonna be big. I dno’t know why, but I can’t see Loki as a main villain, just an evil trickster. Maybe it’s just me.

Well, of course Loki won’t be the only one.

We’re talking about a whole team. It would be wasted fighting against just one baddie.

Obviously he will have henchmen (or the other way around), and I think this is where the skrulls fit in.

I am not familiar with the skrulls. I know I have encounted them in a Marvel video game I have, but I don’t know who they are.

They’re shape-shifting aliens.

Ah. Who meets them first? I know I have heard of Super Skrull, courtesy of MvC3, but the only thing I know about him is that he has all of the Fantastic 4’s powers.

I think they first appeared in Fantastic Four comics.

Ah. And they hate the Fantastic Four because why?

Because they’re heroes and they’re villains?

I don’t know. I suppose that, if an special feud exists between the Skrulls and the F4 (more than with other Marvel characters), it’s a reference to the fact they were the firsts to encounter them.

I swear she was black in one comic…or some…

and as for the skrulls, well, don;t you think that’s a bit of a stretch?

Well, maybe she has been black in some incarnation of the comics, but not in the majority of them.

And why are the skrulls and stretch?

Found a new trailer up on YT.

Awesome! I swear I jumped up and down in my seat several times while watching it…the Avengers totally kick butt! Chris Evans, have I missed you…

Yeah. I got excited seeing Hulk at the end since he was my favorite Marvel character.

The Skrulls hate the Fantastic Four in particular because Reed Richards tricked them into thinking that not only are all humans on Earth just like them but that the planet was plagued by all sorts of dangers that were really just clips from old movies and television shows.

I can’t remember what issue it was, but that’s always been my understanding.

I still think the Skrulls will appear, cause the trailer shows Captain America battling Thor. I think it could be a Skrull impersonating one of them.

But of course, they may simply not appear.

I can’t wait for this movie. It might be the movie I’m most excited for.

I saw the trailer and I have the highest of hopes for this movie  :nerd:
