They are going to make all of those movies? Oh boy. I hope they can do it.
How long do you think the actors are going to stick around??
Well, The Horse and His Boy
is really an “inbetweenquel” for LWW only. It takes place during the reign
of the Pevensies, about one Narnian year before they go back through the wardrobe and into our world. But I think
if you plan on making six, you should just go for broke and make all seven…
As for the actors,
Prince Caspian is the only other book to feature all four Pevensies. Edmund and Lucy
are joined by their cousin Eustace for The Voyage of the Dawn
Treader, and then Eustace goes back with his friend Jill for The
Silver Chair. The Magician’s Nephew has Digory Kirke and Polly
Plummer, and The Last Battle has the Seven Friends of Narnia (Peter, Edmund, Lucy,
Eustace, Jill, Digory and Polly) - but they’re all older. So basically, no one actor needs to stick around for
too long, because there are a lot of cast changes. The only character who is in all seven books is Aslan, and
it’s not like much is required from Liam Neeson (who had better sign on for all seven movies, if he knows
what’s good for him).
They’re planning on shooting Prince Caspian and
Voyage of the Dawn Treader back to back, so Georgie and
Skandar don’t age too much. For the Pevensies in The Horse and His Boy and
The Last Battle, they actually have two options: 1) use William, Skandar, and
Georgie, or 2) use the actors they used at the end of LWW. But those two movies are
way down the line, so there’s plenty of time to figure that out.
