The Dark Droid Trailer 2 [Reupload]

littlechef: You have a Wall-E music video? :open_mouth: Have I heard of this before, or is this new? Anyway, if it’s completed, I’d like to see it! Thanks for the ‘complys’!

TSS: Thanks! So, what do you think of [spoil]Mission: Incredible[/spoil]? I’m working on it now, and it’s shaping up to be one of my best trailer dubs yet. You might like to know, it’s my first release in the pipeline! Well, after Pixar vs Dreamworks, that is.

I gotta tell you, that sneak peak was spectacular! Way to get more subscribers- it’s very fantastically cut together. I am hyped for your vids!

thedriveintheatre - No, I never feel obligated to watch your videos. It’s mostly time-constraints and Internet troubles that stop me from doing so. Usually I don’t have time to give feedback for a majority of the fantastic work on PP, but try to make time for yours, since you do so to other people, and your vids are really high-quality and entertaining. I hope you feel special now.  Anyways, onto the ‘Summer Sneak Peek 2009’ review…

So much awesomeness with this, once isn’t enough to catch it all! Just fantastic! One of your best yet. Really. The song choice was effective, but not so much that it took the attention away from the trailer (plus the violins are nice) and the effect with the text moving with snippets of the footage was new. At least, I don’t remember you using it with your past videos. Nice touch with the Hamster flicking through Pixar films. There’s a Banjo Kazooie movie? I used to play that on Nintendo 64! I suppose it will make the transition to an animated film pretty well, in terms of technicality. Rat-hour-three, lol! I’m probably just very immature, but the name of one of your earlier videos, The Dark 'Cock title still gets a big snicker from me. 8D (Hey, they have a censor for that word now. Well, watch the video and you’ll see what I mean, peeps).

Keep up the continual improvement with these vids! I’m really looking forward to what you have to present to us this winter, I mean, Northern-hemisphere summer. Especially the Pixar vs. Dreamworks one.

I’m curious, at the beginning of the preview trailer, did you give the Disney logo the static? (Kinda like what also was done with Be Kind Rewind, and The Cable Guy trailers, I think). That was a cool effect.

Thanks BDD for the thread and YT comments!

Gasp! You saw through my ploy, didn’t you?

Well, if I got you stoked, I musta got it right.

Aw, thanks Rachel! I usually feel embarassed at plugging my works constantly in my avatar and sigs, but I like doing that (gives that pre-release vibe), so I try to promote other people’s works too by commenting in their threads. It’s a dual-approach, other forum member’s threads get ‘bumped’ instead of just mine, and my sigs and avatars get exposure too! Win-win huh?

I used Sony Vegas. Found iMovie’s title sequences too limited and wanted to develop my skills. Glad you noticed!

Again, good on ya for spotting that!

Nope. That was from a trailer for their new game, Nuts and Bolts. Played a demo in Sing. Very funny and self-referential, plus it has racing missions!

If it’s Pixar-related, I’m curious to know whatsit…

Yeah, I tried to type that when I first posted the vid and got the same censor, so it’s nuthin new. Again people, it’s short-form for Hancock, nothing naughty here!

Naw, I don’t know how to do that yet. Just straight footage from one of the Bolt trailers.

Well, it’s May 10! Happy Mother’s Day, ma, love ya! ;-p

Aaannnd it also happens to be the gala premiere of the brand-spanking new trailer for a movie that will never see the light of day, Pixar vs Dreamworks!

“It’s the battle of the century, when two of the biggest animation powerhouses on Earth go head-to-head in an all-out, no-holds-barred war of the worlds.
When Modesto bride-to-be Susan Murphy gets pummeled by a meteorite from outer space, she literally leaves her fiance (jaw gaping) at the altar when she grows into a 40-feet, 11-inches giant. Captured by the military and incarcerated against her will in a top-secret government facility disguised as a power-generator company, she meets her fellow creature housemates from various animated films. When a host of movie-related extra-terrestials led by Dwight Schrute and Michael Scott make their grand entrance (and subsequent invasion) of Earth, the head of the facility, General W.R. Monger manages to convince President Colbert to use the monsters (and a reluctant Jack Bauer) to combat the aliens.
Together with her motley crew of fellow freaks, Susan must learn to find the strength within herself, listen to her heart, and follow her dreams (or something along those lines), to save the world from total annihilation.”

Here we go with another one of my nonsense parodies. There’s tons of in-jokes to look out for, particularly involving the voice actors of the original Monsters vs Aliens film, and various sci-fi and animated film references. As you can tell, I’m an equal opportunity player when it comes to both studios, so no one is safe! And remember, whoever wins… we… uh… lose?

Just comment okay?

PIXAR VS DREAMWORKS
Available in HD (Of course, I couldn’t find all the source vids as 1080p per se, but the final output is…)

COMING UP- Mission: Incredible!

Nobody has anything to say about Pixar vs Dreamworks? Y’all broke my heart! :frowning:
Hmm… Ad campaign = Epic fail!
While I sit here twiddling my thumbs waiting for feedback, here’s the grand opening of my next mash-up, as promised.

To celebrate the release of the new Star Trek film by J.J. Abrams and scored by Michael Giachinno, fasten your seatbelts for another pulse-racing, heart-pounding, mind-bending trailer mash-up from the weird and wacky mind of The Drive-In Theatre!

Retired NSA (short for National Supers Agency) operative Bob Parr has faced down and stopped the toughest villains in Metroville throughout his career. Called back into action to uncover and apprehend Syndrome; a sadistic and merciless weapons inventor, he will face his deadliest nemesis yet; one who has a personal vendetta against him from the past. Forced to keep his latest assignment a secret from his family, he races against the clock and ruthless mercenaries before managing to capture and detain the dangerous arms dealer at his hideout on Nomanisan Island. But when Syndrome escapes custody and abducts his wife and children, Bob, along with his old partner Frozone, and their newest field agent Mirage, must work together to rescue his loved ones and save the day.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to watch, rate, and comment this video. And subscribe to the main channel.

MISSION: INCREDIBLE
Available in HQ

Impressive TDIT. I realy enjoyed watching it. Some parts made me jump out of my chair. i could definetely feel the intensity in the video and between Bob and Syndrome. Really well done. In my opinion, this is a realy stong mash-up trailer. It kept me on the edge of my seat. This is by far my favorite one that you have ever made. Keep it up.

So sorry TDIT! I forgot to give you a full comment on this thread! I gave you a brief one on YT, but I know I didn’t say enough.

First, on Pixar Vs. DreamWorks:
I LOL’d so much at this one!
I like how well you fit The Incredibles, Monsters, Inc., and Shrek. Very clever. With “monsters” “Bob” and “wedding”.
LOL “Say hello to Insectosaurus.”
“Ruuunnn! It’s Godzilla!”
“It looks like Godzilla, but due to international copyright laws, it’s not.”
“Still we should run like it is Godzilla.”
“Though it’s not.”
“AHHHHH!”
XD That really fit! Random, but fits at the same time! 8D

All the stunned silence put together went well together!
Other parts really made me laugh like:
-AUTO: “No.”
-HOPPER: “Squish them.”
-B.O.B.: “Sorry I was just staring at this bird over there.” Kevin appears
-B.O.B.: “Oh, I feel so stupid.” shows Bloo

The ending with Bloo also really fit because it looks just like B.O.B.!

I can’t tell you how hilarious that video was, I can’t even list the reasons without pretty much summarizing the whole video! Very fabulous editing job, TDIT, and a rich sense of humor! Here’s another one of your videos going into my favorites!

Okay, now on to your latest one, Mission: Incredible, 'cause I accept the mission all right.
It’s all so epic!! Perfect clip choices and timing, I especially love how you fit the ending, you made it so believable. “You’ll never get what you want!” “You don’t think I’ll do it!”
Another brilliant job, TDIT. No lie. You never fail to amaze me through your vids!

TSS - Knew you’d like it, biggest Incredi-fan.

I like taking animated movies and synching them to trailers for more adult, intense action trailers to see how far I can ‘push’ my editing skills. Gives me more of a challenge. I do the opposite for the grown-up movies too, such as making The Dark Knight and Street Kings all light-hearted and stupid like in my earlier nonsense mash-ups, The Dark 'C*ck and Street Klowns respectively. I find the greatest contrasts in juxtapositions elicits the most laughs.

I had a feeling you were gonna say that. Refer to above.

BDD - No need to apologise! Giving me comments on YT is good enough as it is, let alone posting additional feedback on this thead! Not that I mind more comments, though!

I was doing the mash-up for Mission: Incredible at the same time when I saw that clip of Bob taking a stretch. Divine inspiration struck. For Fiona’s cameo, I was thinking of a way to feature Shrek in the mash-up, and the final transformation scene bore similarities, so I put it in.

The Godzilla clip is from Austin Powers: Goldmember, if you didn’t know that.

I noticed Pixar does a lot of the ‘stunned silence and awkward stares’ act, so I used that in response to B.O.B.'s ‘My Back!’ joke.

Yeah, I was watching an episode of Fosters, when it came to me.

Thanks for the compliments on Mission: Incredible.

That was my favourite bit to edit, too.

Thanks BDD! You’re one of the commenters I look forward to. No lie! :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry, thedriveintheatre. I did watch your Pixar vs. Dreamworks fan-trailer when it was released, and even started writing a response, but got distracted and didn’t comment. is embarrassed Thanks for reminding me.

“Pixar vs. Dreamworks” - This video had a really light-hearted feel to it, which was nice for a change when you try to give each video different vibes. Ha-ha. The Office jokes, that fits in with the random theme quite well. You edited seamlessly between Pixar and other Dreamworks movies in some places, it took a good 3 or so watches of the video for me to realise. rubs eyes If only Stephen Colbert were the president, we’d have a lot less sneaky bears around that’s for sure… The “look at bob” text was cute, and a nice touch. You know what? Dreamworks totally ripped off Bloo from Fosters. Yay, Kevin! Btw, in that Godzilla/Austin Powers 3 clip, that was my other favourite Heroes star, Masi Oka, as the second Japanese pedestrian. A very fun mash-up you’ve made. Just an idea, but it would be cool if you ever did a sequel to this one, Pixar vs. Dreamworks - Round II, to use a Pixar film trailer as the basis and splice it with Dreamworks and other references.

“Mission: Incredible” - You make The Incredibles seem so much cooler, and just like a totally different movie. Gosh, excellent syncing! Like with the 5 (sorry I didn’t catch the reference), 4 (four pencils), 3 (10m:38s), 2 (arms), 1 (the ‘i’ logo…?). Great choice of movies, they’re similar enough to mash-up together and apparently The Incredibles has over 80 explosions, so that must have been easy-peasy to choose some to put into this fan trailer. I haven’t ever seen Mission: Impossible (yeah, I fail at seeing a lot of popular movies) but the music is similar, too, in that they both draw from James Bond, I think (lots of brass, bongos). Oooh, great fading transitions from those quick scenes. The logo at the end made me laugh, you should have kept it on screen for slightly longer, though. Heeeeey, you snuck in footage from Toy Story 2, you cheater! :stuck_out_tongue:

What video will be screening next, Andre?

Did I remind you, Rachel?  If you meant as in ‘bumping’ this thread in my response to TSS and BDD, then no worries! Feel free to post comments anytime!

I don’t quite understand what you mean by ‘sneaky bears’, is that slang for suspicious politicians or something?

Yeah, I started watching the first season when I was doing this mash-up, and came to that ‘epiphany’.

I thought he looked familiar… not sure whether I was seeing that time-traveling guy until you mentioned it…

Hm… not a bad idea. No promises, but if I have time and I run out of mash-up ideas, I think I can try that out.

Actually, only the 10m:38s bit was intentional, I didn’t realise the other visual metaphors until you pointed them out!

I realised there were a huge amount of pyrotechnics while making this, but 80! :open_mouth: Wow! Yeah, it was actually quite difficult to choose the best ones.

You should! It was Tom Cruise when he was at his peak, the first and third are pretty awesome and true to the TV series! I haven’t watched the second in ages, but apparently people say it’s not as good.

Brass, yes. Bongos, not so much.

I was following the original trailer down to the second as much as possible. For my next one, maybe I’ll go a little ‘freestyle’ and follow the soundtrack instead of the original video’s timings.

Why thanks for the compliment! :stuck_out_tongue: First thing that came to mind when I saw the jacknifing tanker from the original…

Check out my YT channel’s description. Let’s just say if TSS found this trailer to his liking, you’re gunna love the next one!

Anyone else wants to give me bouquets? Brickbats? Bricks and bats?

FYI, I’ll be updating my wallpaper for my channel every Wednesday for the Film of the Week. You can only guess what movie I’m going to put up tomorrow!

With 3 more days to go to Pixar’s next epic adventure, I’ve updated my YT homepage accordingly… Up is the Film of the Week at the Theatre! Hooray! Yaaay! Raaah…

And get ready for my next mash-up… How do you stop a machine that just won’t die?

No worries, Andre!

You mean I’ll love the next video released? Really? “WALL-E Salvation”… hmm. That’s not WALL-E crossed with The Terminator, is it? The cutest robot in the world cut against the creepiest? (Seriously, I won’t see the new Terminator at the cinemas because the robots scare me. :shake:) Well, whatever the case, I’m sure it will be great - maybe I could watch your next video with my hands in front of my eyes…

Drop it in lava.

I’m afraid it is, Rachel.

Haha, I love that emoticon. Aw, but you did watch the second as a kid, didn’t you? And this is the first one in the franchise to be not rated R (it’s a teen-friendly PG-13!).

Trust me, it’s far from scary…

Try telling that to Mr. Incredible.

To anyone who has read my sig and has been highly anticipating its release, I’ll probably get it out tomorrow Aussie time, which is 14th of June in America anyway, so technically it’s still on time.

HASTA LA VISTA, BAB•E!

It’s back. In the long-awaited sequel to one of the greatest sci-fi series in history, Jeff Garlin plays John Connor, the leader of the human resistance against the ruthless conglomerate BuynLarge and its relentless army of service-bots. After much of human civilisation was destroyed by mountains of trash generated by rampant consumerism, John Connor is the savior of the remaining survivors, and must lead the final battle against their machine counterparts. But when he meets a mysterious trash compactor (Ben Burtt) who is capable of feeling human emotions, including love for a fellow robot (Elissa Knight), Connor realises that the future of mankind he has believed in has been altered forever. As BnL launches its final marketing campaign to send all of humanity into a global financial crisis, the trio must embark on a perilous journey into the heart of BnL headquarters, to uncover the true mastermind behind the enslavement of the human race.

Wallenator Salvation

R, C and Sub! You know the drill.

Coming Soon: TDIT exacts his ultimate revenge.
But First: Meet the man everyone loves to hate.

Great idea to put [spoil]Zurg[/spoil] in there. :sunglasses:

Thanks for noticing, totoro! You could say that was a cameo appearance.

Anyone else would like to comment? Don’t be shy… I accept compliments and constructive criticisms…

seriously, you made great videos. that’s all i can say coz i’m…speechless* <—which means good thing.

Great job! I only just watched this newest one now, but I must say you’ve got great editing skills. I too spotted Zurg in there. Nice touch!

  • C-3PO

wannabechef91: Thanks, I like ‘shutting people up’. In an impressed silence kinda way, I mean, aheheh.

C-3PO: Thanks for the complies! Yeah, I think this may be the start of a new trend where I insert Pixar characters from other movies as ‘guest appearances.’

Keep those comments coming! My next project will be another nonsense trailer mash-up (I alternate between serious trailer dubs and more non-sequitur YTPs) of the biggest blockbuster movie of the summer. All I can say is: Revenge will be sweet! :sunglasses:

I can’t wait for the newest trailers you will transform.
