The Famous and the Infamous

Don’t

worry, Mitch and TSS; we’re all still in our teens, so we’ve got plenty more time to see and meet people before

all’s said and done. You’ve just got to take initiative. Pretty much everybody in Dash’s list he would have

met because he made an effort to actually go to an event and see/meet these people, as opposed to just meeting

them by chance on the street or whatnot. Once we’re older and have more freedom and can go where we want more

easily and yadda yadda, we’ll have plenty more chances to meet famous people.

In the past year,

I’ve gotten to meet and get my picture taken with:

Michael Tait (Christian artist, former member of DC

Talk)
Jody McBrayer (Christian artist, 1/4 of Christian music group Avalon)
Jerry Falwell (Baptist

preacher, among other things, and chancellor of my school)
Lex van den Berghe (from Survivor:

Africa and All-Stars)

It’s not much, especially compared to

Dash and PV, but oh well…

Yeah, I haven’t

met anyone really famous either, but as DElf said, we’ve still got plenty of time. My mum, on the other hand,

has met numerous famous people, inluding her favourite actor of all time- Yul Brynner. She went to see a

performance of The King And I in London, and was able to go backstage and met everyone in the cast, including Yul

Brynner himself.

I know which famous person I would most want to see- Steve Buscemi. Meeting Steve is

just my dream, and it’s also a good excuse to go on holiday in America.

Moving this from my other post which I so stupidly made a

mistake of doing …

I met actor Steve Coogan on the set of ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ in

Berlin. Didn’t get to talk much, but I can say that he’s an all-around good guy, as I hoped he’d be. I do have

a huge crush on him and it was so unreal to be standing there talking with him. <3

Another time, I

went on a class trip to ‘Inside the Actor’s Studio’ with Nathan Lane. Didn’t get to chat with him or

anything, but I was in the same room with him.

And actor/director/genius Terry Jones (the man on my

avatar) will be visiting the theatre next week, and I’m going completely spaztic over this because I’m a huge

fan of Monty Python and to be honest, the man is my idol.

Seen: WWE

announcer Jerry “The King” Lawer. He was shopping with his wife in a mall a few hours before

Wrestlemania 18 in Toronto. It was not long before he started to get mobbed by fans. A group of friends and I who

where also there for WM18 where one of the first people to discover he was in the mall. We spend some time

debated whether or not we should go up to him to meet him.

I met Timothy Zahn once (the author of some of my

favourite Star Wars novels). Here is a picture,

depicting my happiness. That was three years ago. He’s a really awesomely nice guy… stayed late and answered

all our questions. Talked to everyone as we went through the line, too. He says he’d like to see his original

trilogy of SW books turned into computer animated films, and gave me permission to work on it if I ever

could.

That’s about all I have to add to the “cool” list, though. Anthony Daniels (C-3PO)

refused to meet with the costumed volunteers at the Star Wars Spectacular concert, so alas, I did not get to meet

him. But I saw him read the script in a very shiny golden suit that made him look somewhat like a baked

potato.

I met Terry Jones last Thursday! Absolute goodness.

I’d say more but I’m pretty much half asleep right now. :stuck_out_tongue:

Can I add people that my parents/teachers met but not me?

If I do, I have a list then.
