The Flinstones- From the Creators of Family Guy

From the Creators of Family Guy–the Cashstones! How do you think his theme song will go? Butcher the old one so much we can’t tell the difference?

Seth will have like 10 show’s by the time he retires.

True, unless he learns the meaning of the word “overkill” before that.

We’ll be watching Seth 'til he’s 100. ;-p unless he dies before then.

Um, what??? Now we’re remaking cartoons that already got made? And the Flintstones of all things? I love the Flintstones and I dont see how a show set in the stone age needs “a 21st century spin”. I guess Fred will swear a lot more, tho you know, he was hilarious when he was mad even without the swearing. I wonder if it’ll be like the Flintstones cutaway jokes he’s done on his shows, which are amusing for the 2 minutes they’re on, but I dont wanna see him do a whole 22 minutes of that. Then again, I dont really wanna see him do this no matter what the show will be like, because I’m probably not gonna like what he does with it. I havent really liked what he’s been doing for awhile, when I used to think he was awesome.

lol, this made me laugh! And I agree, it’s ridiculous.

I’m still wondering about the theme song…

We’ll see in time!

Well Peter sing’s in his, Cleveland sing’s in his, and Stan sing’s in his. He may sing.

I never knew that Seth criticized Pixar. I just looked up what he said, and while I’m not suprised to see him say what he said about Pixar, I am suprised about Shrek. Given the kind of humore Shrek films are known for, and the kind of humor Seth’s shows are known for, it seems like something he would enjoy. Anyway, I don’t watch his shows anymore, but I’ll check out his version of The Flinstones because I love the show, and I’m interested in seeing his take on it.

At least when this new series starts, I’m hoping The Cleveland Show will be gone. 4 shows…way too much.

Or Family Guy–that show went on WAY too long.

Here’s a thought that just came to my mind about this: One of the reasons I tend to dislike parodies on shows like Family Guy is because they can sometimes make well-known characters act completely out-of-character. Yes, I know that they’re always meant to be a joke and not taken seriously (hence, a parody), but they can just feel very unnatural to me. For example, one time they parodied the intro to The Jetsons and it just bugged me how they made George let out the “b-word” from out of the blue, when I’ve always felt that his character was too nice for that sort of thing. Compare that to a scene I always liked at the end of Jetsons: The Movie, where George has to stand up to his own boss to do the right thing, and he does all of it in a way that seems very in-character for him. Why is that? I think it’s because it was coming out of the original creators who would know their own characters better than anyone else who would work on them (unless of course they put all their heart into wanting to stay true to the source material). That said, if Seth is serious about loving The Flintstones and wanting to make a faithful representation of it and the characters, then he’ll really need to prove himself to all the classic Hanna-Barbera fans out there and not just do his own version of it.

Actually, you’re right. Family Guy hasn’t been that good recently anyway.

But I agree with Flik-E…if he’s going to do something this stupid, he’ll have to prove himself to all the HB fans.

To me, Family Guy has never been good. But that is just my opinion.

And Flik-E makes very good points!

Yeah he does. I agree.

I agree with both of you…the man should just go back to his roots and finish Larry and Steve, or at least make it into a series…

I would like the Larry and Steve.

I would too…
