What’s the difference?
And which one do YOU preferr? I personally want to see The Mist. I don’t know how good The Fog is, because I haven’t seen it yet. It’s on the TV right at the moment, but it’s already halfway through, so I’m not gonna bother watching it. But what are the differences and which is better?
Neeither! They are both so scary! I mean, walking into a Fog or Mist? You can’t see in front of you and you always get this feeling that something’s behind you! ![]()
AND in the books and movies, their are Ghosts and super-natural beings hidden in them. O__O
That’s true too! ![]()
Horror movies of the supernatural type (The Mist, The Ring, The Grudge) are NOT scary. A horror movie doesn’t scare me unless the events could occur in reality, which is why I’m happy my UNCLE is my dentist. Heheh.
~~=oP
LOL I don’t care if they’re scary I just can’t stand gory stuff… (I nearly fainted during Final Destination.)
PV- But what about that strange grinding noise the grudge girl makes? That’s gotta freak you out! ![]()
Although I have never seen either, I have to admit that PV is right. The Barney films are scarier than the horror junk you see today… ![]()

Wellllll, when I was about ten years old, my mum let my sister, and my friend and I watch Child’s Play - not really scary by today’s standards, but to a fragile and not-quite-developed mind back then, it really did something to my psyche.
So, I can’t watch scary movies, or even anything with too much tension in it especially if it revolves around people being killed, otherwise I feel physically ill and have to leave the room. But I haven’t actively sought out to try and watch a scary movie in a few years so maybe I’ve grown out of it by now. shrugs
There is a fine line between scary and stupid. Gore in horror films is alright for me. I don’t like it, but I;ll live with it. THen, sooner or later, if there is too much, you find yourself laughing instead of wetting your pants.
Dude, you’re contradicting yourself. Either you like gore or you don’t. Heheh.
~~=oP
I guess if it looks realistic, and is actually necessary, then it’s worth it. But there are some films that are just packed with blood and people getting killed pretty much for the sake of it, and instead of the gore actually being effective and shocking, it just ends up as monotonous. It’s probably why less and less people are actually scared of horror films nowadays; we’re exposed to that kind of thing so much, on the TV and in video games, that it just doesn’t become shocking anymore.
lizardgirl - Exactly. You hit it right on the mark there. Horror and suspense films nowadays seem more prone to repeat themselves and basically go for the disturbing images than a decent, well thought-out, and entertaining plot line. Such productions as Polterguist and Hitchock’s films are more intriguing than todays’ horror movies. It’s pitiful, man.

I KNOW. Omg, I love action movies and movies where stuff blows up (lol) but all this crud about people getting killed by demons is just CRAZY. Does anyone want to see that movie with Johnny Depp where he’s some possessed physcopath barber? That is just crazy! I mean, it’s just silly really… But I like movies if I know they’re fake. (sort of) If it’s based on a real story I don’t wanna watch it. hugs teddy bear
Omg, I’m such a baby.
I wanaa see National Treasure 2! O________O
Edited. No shouting, please. – Mitch
I think it is okay, but too much or overdoing it will spark two reactions. A laugh that it looks real funny, or maybe a throw up.
Not to sound rude, but how can you tell I’m shouting on a computer? Just because I was using the Caps doesn’t mean I was shouting.
But okay, I won’t anymore if it bugs you…
NikChik: You might not be shouting when you use all caps, but I think it kinda gives the impression of shouting.
Okay… Sorry? =/ (sorry guys I didn’t mean to shout. Er… Use caps, whatever…)
NikChik11 - On most forum boards, using all caps in the presense of others is refered to as “shouting” or “yelling”. Although one may simply be attempting to make a point about something via caps, it tends to make his/her post(s) appear unattractive or “loud”. If you wish to emphasize a statement, feel free to use the italics or bold option(s) instead. ![]()

I saw the Mist a couple days ago, and it was…Okay. I thought it was funny on many occasions, though it wasn’t supposed to be. Just a little hint… [spoil]The ending is pretty much the definition of irony.[/spoil]
