The Food Thread!

In the mood for cinnamon rolls or orange rolls, don’t got any though.

One of my favorite meals I’ve come to enjoy making/eating is Jamaican beans and rice. It uses a blend of Jamaican spices, vegetable broth, coconut milk, garlic, some margarine, red kidney beans, and sweet/slightly hot peppers. It’s delicious, easy, healthy, and dirt cheap. Yay!

My mom made spice cake.

I know it’s unhealthy, but it’s a guilty pleasure for many! What are your favorite fast food places?

I LOVE In-N-Out, and I can’t imagine not living in California/Arizona/Utah and not being able to enjoy it.

I also like KFC, Subway, Carls Jr, and Jamba Juice.

Fast Food places I like are Burger King, Sonic, Hardys, and KCS.

I hate Mcdonalds.

I like McDonald’s frech fris and $1 for any size soft drink.

Havn’t had their food in a couple years.

My favorite fast food place by far is Taco Johns. I love stuffed grilled tacos SO MUCH!!!
Just look:

Where they from?

Taco Johns.

I’ve heard if it, but never been to it.

That’s too bad. I go there every Wednesday after guitar lessons. I never get tired of it. 8D

If I ever get the chance I’ll try the place.

My favorite fasfood is chicken. The one’e I like best are Burger King, Hardees, and KFC.

I just had Burger King tonight. Have you tried their new fries?

I like Burger King, but I always find them to be really expensive. Can’t stand KFC, and I have to put up with McDonalds.

Yes I have, their good. Haven’t had Burger King in a really long time though.

The only “fast food” restaurants I’m a fan of are Noodles & Company, Chipotle, Qdobe, and Native Foods. Mmmmm…

Interesting, I’ve never heard of Taco Johns. Where I live we have Taco Bell, but I never go there. Living in California, we have a great selection of Taco Shops and Taco Trucks with authentic Mexican food, so why the heck would I go to Taco Bell?

I haven’t heard of any of these, but Native Foods sounds interesting.

Taco Bell is good. I liked the Taco Bell dog when I was little.

There are a couple Native Foods in California from what I understand. Their food is 100% vegan and they make all their own fake meats, cheeses, sauces, etc that are among the best I’ve tried. NF opened up three restaurants in the city of Chicago this year alone (for reference: before 2011 Chicago did not have very many all-vegan restaurants), and every time I’ve visited they’ve been very crowded, so if that is any sign of how tasty their food is… it’s very tasty! My boyfriend and I were drooling over their bacon cheeseburger with homemade ranch dressing and fried pickle chips. Oh goodness me. Sorry for getting all excited there, but NF has been a revelation in vegan food for me. Some of NF’s dishes could easily be mistaken for “the real thing.”

Have you really not heard of the others, though? They’re national chains. Chipotle and Qdoba are like nicer, tastier versions of Taco Bell and they don’t put a bunch of weird things in their food or use microwaves (at least that’s true for Chipotle). Noodles & Company is sort of a quick-serve restaurant but with quality ingredients, so the food is comparable to a pricer sit-down restaurant. I love them all!
