"The History of Pixar" article at Yahoo! Movies

This was actually posted as one of today’s entertainment headlines at yahoo.com, and I figured it was perfect to share with you all. It’s full of interesting facts behind the scenes of Pixar’s nine feature-length films, such as the fact that Toy Story was originally going to be a 30-minute Christmas special, and that a Big Name Star was not the first choice for one of Pixar’s most well-known and beloved characters.

There is also a link to the “Up” trailer, for those of you who have not migrated over to the “Up” forum to see it. (Please keep all discussion of the trailer in that thread.)

Thanks for sharing! It’s always fun learning fun new facts about Pixar movies!

Although some of the facts were familiar, it was definitely an interesting read! I didn’t know that the test audiences thought that the humans wouldn’t survive on Earth, and so that’s why Pixar added the ending credits to show that they were actually okay. Thanks for the link, KE!

Although I knew most the facts, the new Up trailer was really cool! Thanks for sharing.

great to see masterpiece after masterpiece listed like that… PIXAR=AWESOME

Great find, KE! Thanks for posting it!

I pretty much knew all the facts listed, except the 800 ants in a Bug’s Life shot, the recording of Boo’s voice for Monsters Inc, and the reason for the animated closing credits in Wall-E.

Guess when you think you’ve known it all, you learn something new! Good of Yahoo to generate publicity for Up.

A most interesting and informative article. Thank you very much for sharing it with us, KE!

Very interesting article, although, yes, a lot of the facts did sound familiar. But this article is written for the casual moviegoer, not the fanatic who already knows these things
