I kind of forgot to post that The Incredibles was having a momentous day but I wrote up a late post anyway. The Incredibles was released on November 5th, 2004. That means (I’m late to post this but) TI is 5 years old!!
Half a decade already! Dang, it doesn’t seem like it’s that old! It still feels like it came out only a year ago! Time does fly by! I would have only been 9 then! Wait, I thought it was 10? Or do I think that because my first viewing of it was on DVD? That’s probably why I thought I was 10 when it came out. XD
Man, my fondest memory of the Incredibles . . . You know, I’m not exactly sure what that would be. Maybe my first viewing. Oooh! I know! The day I found Doc was hidden in the movie! I still try to point it out to whoever’s in the room when that scene is on. Though usually, I’m alone, geeking out about it in private . . .
I can’t believe I was in elementary school then! I remember that year, too… That was a good year! To be honest, I don’t remember watching “The Incredibles” in theatres (the only 2 movies I remember seeing that year are the Yu-Gi-Oh! and SpongeBob movies…I know, but I was really hyped for those films at the time!), but when I finally did watch it (on DVD?), I really did enjoy it!
This is still one of my top favorite Pixar films! I really do hope that Pixar has been making or is planning to make a sequel, because there’s no doubt that I’ll be there for the first screening!
This movie was what finally pushed me to go into animation. i had been teetering for a while, but this the story and characters were what finally made up my mind.
There is not a day when I don’t come in contact with something TI related. My wallet has Dash on it. I have a logo wristband I wear to class to remind me why I push myself so hard. And I have a metal belt buckle that I wear when I’m feeling down and want that something extra. I always have the movie available to watch because it’s on my ipod touch. And my cell phone has an “I” logo shrinky dink charm that I made.
In short. I owe the flick a lot. Thanks you Brad Bird and Pixar!
Five years? Really? You’ve gotta be kidding me? Wow. . .thats all I can say. So many memories from the film that has changed my life. i can’t go a day without thinking of TI.
I can go on forever, but to put it simply, Thank you pixar and Brad Bird.
oh…5 years. Ah the memories, the nostalgia of it all. I remember I was at first reluctant to watch it, but I did. Twice in movies, but like 24 more times on DVD
The days on I-K had ALOT to play into My Incredibles obsession. (Yes, obsession) We were all a family there…
The Incredibles is easily my 2nd favorite Pixar, behind Toy story of course!
I remember taking my young cousins to see The Incredibles when it came out and I can’t believe it was that long ago. I wonder where the time goes, but I’ll tell you this, watching the film is still a pleasure, I love everything about it, the characters, the action sequences, Michael Giacchino’s score, a perfect film.
It doesn’t seem like it’s been five years at all! I can still remember going into the cinema and seeing a large cardboard cut-out of the whole family and thinking, ‘maybe I should go and see that’. I might have to go and watch it this evening as a celebration. Happy fifth anniversary, The Incredibles!
