Gee, thanks guys! Missed you guys a lot! Spread the love, baby!
Hiya!
I know you probably don’t know me (I’m fairly new here) but I think you’re awesome. (and I love your new sig. xD )
Thanks Badger! YEah, but hey, why miss the chances to know ourselves?
Let start from the beginning:
I’m wannabechef91, just call me chef (that’s what people address me, not myself )
Hey everyone! How are you all doing?
So I’m new on this forum, and just wanted to introduce myself. I’m Glenn, belgian and 20 years old. Normally I’d study Film next year, but since I have seen Wall-e/Up, I’m doubting if I should go for film or animation. I love wall-e and up, but I’m a bigger fan of the short movies. I fell in love with pixar through presto and Geri’s game. Probably watched it already over a 100 times ^^
Anyway as for myself and animation: Thanks to Pixar, I started learning 3Ds max since a few days ago, just really basic stuff right now, but i’m thinking of following lessons though
I have already written a few scripts, and maybe I should post them once in the fansection I don’t know.
Anyway I really love to be here with you guys, so I can finally share this interest with people!
Cya around!
GlennD
Hi GlennD! Welcome to the boards! Can’t wait tot see you around here. And how cool is that? You’re studying 3D Max! Good luck with those scripts!
Welcome GlennD!
So thinking about doing Film? That’s really cool. I want to go into animation, but all the colleges in my area don’t have specific divisions for animation, but a few do have a courses for cinematography. I thought they’d be interesting to take, either as extracurricular or maybe minoring. Although, thankfully my highschool does provide a very steady animation class, I have taken advantage of that.
Again, welcome to the boards!
Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you all know that I will be back next week! School has been making it tough to get on but my classes are finally starting to ease down a bit. See you all in a week
DD
A week will I wait! Can’t wait to get ya back DD!
Well, I’m off to Sydney to visit my good mate P. Sherman for a few days. It will be a good break from the computer and great to see my extended family also. I’ll respond to any private messages when I get back. In case of a forum emergency I’m sure Bill and The Star Swordsman will have this place covered. See ya real soon!
rachelcakes - Ah! Nice! Enjoy the really weird & wacky (mostly hot) Sydney weather while you’re over here!
And, on the note of that, I declare my sebbatical from PP over. Exams are finished (and I was soooooo stressed out!) and I am back to my duties of making PP a better experience for you all. Im sorry Peach is long overdue, as exams was much more longer, more stressful and more tolling than I expected. It should be finished sooner or later this or next week… I promise. I’m so sorry for the delay.
Hope you guys are had a good one while I was gone… heh… it’s not like I’m the life of the party anyways, so no loss.
Hey there, everyone!
I just joined and I’m looking forward to having some nice discussions here. It seems like a very nice forum.
Can’t wait for you to back Rachel!
Welcome back Phileas buddy! I hope you’re not having stress anymore. Glad to have you back!
Hey Flik-E! Welcome aboard! Feel free to post! This is indeed a forum which has a lot of love and so much more…
Welcome to the forums GlennD! I taught myself 3ds max a few years ago. I started by going through a bunch of tutorials, but I also played around with it on my own. It’s a great program. I’m currently using Maya in school though.
Welcome back Phileas! Good to have you around again!
Welcome Flik-E! This is definitely a great place to be if you are a Pixar fan! Some of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure to meet are on this forum. I hope you enjoy your time here.
At laaast… my break has come along… my stressful days are behind me… and life is like a song!!!
Finally, it’s here! The Christmas holidays! Can ya smell it? I thought I would never make it… my group and I have been working literally day and night (we stayed overnight in school for practically an entire week, and there was one point I didn’t return home for 3 consecutive nights! I stank like yesterday’s cabbage by the time it was over… ). Did I tell too much? Yeah, it was that bad. But at last, our graduating assignments are over, I’ve sat for the last paper, and I’m now chilling on a lazy Saturday night for my well-deserved break (I’m watching Monsters Inc on Free-To-Air now).
I’ve got one more trailer mash-up in store (It’s gonna be hilarious, the hint I’ll give ya is it involves an upcoming police procedural and an animated film. Yeah, really, you won’t believe it! ), followed by the biggest music video I’ve ever attempted in my entire life to send the year off with a bang. It will be spectacular (hopefully I can get it completed in time by end of December, fingers crossed, otherwise maybe in time for Awards Season)!
I’ll probably be here for a couple more days, before I fly back to Singapore and jet off the next day on my family vacation to pay our distant relatives a visit in China. It will probably be the first time I’ll see some of them. Yes, TDIT returns to his roots and is visiting the land of Po the Panda! It’s gonna be kung-pow awesome!
“Ha-ha-ha! Hello, boys (and girls)! I’m BAAACK!”
Flies up into exploding alien mothership
Glad to hear you survived that work marathon and good to have you back!
I think you deserve some totally awesome holidays now.
HURRAAAAYYY! TDIT is in the house again! Welcome back TDIT! wow…I’m missing little chef…
Thanks for the walm welcome guys
Hannahmation, is there a big difference using maya compared to 3Ds Max? Cause if I might do animation/film next year, I might better start learning maya! And yes, currently doing a lot of tutorials. It’s a great program. Not easy if you start with modeling stuff and such though.
P.S.: you got some works?
Welcome back, thedriveintheatre! I missed you a lot! In fact, a lot of us at Pixar Planet missed you.
I can’t wait for your trailer mash-up; I just love your videos. <3
BTW, I’m writing a WALL•E parody. If you’d like to check it out, click my sig!
Welcome back, TDIT!!
GlennD: There isn’t a huge difference as far as using both are concerned. Although the short cuts are different, so I got frustrated trying to go back to 3ds max after a year of Maya. haha If you do switch to Maya at some point, it will take a little bit to get used to the small differences, but nothing major. And my website is currently undergoing reconstruction, but I do have a blog with some stuff on it: Blog Link
AWWW!!! It’s soo awesome to have you back, TDIT!! You were seriously missed, as you probably already see! I look forward to viewing your future video projects, they sound like they’re going to be super epic!!!
Awwww, wannabechef! hugs I miss being around a lot, too. But don’t worry… I’ve been hanging around the site a bit since there’s wi-fi here, and hopefully will be able to catch up on all the new stuff going on when I get back home and comfortable on Monday.
I miss you all! Can’t wait to be back into the PixarPlanet groove!
