I’m back from Germany! It was pretty fun. I never went to any of the big cities or sites, and I mainly stayed around the Alps (essentialy Austria), but I wasn’t missing out on much since I’ve previously lived in Germany for a couple years. Here’s what happened during the week:
Day 1: It was about an 8 hour road-trip from Rome to Garmisch, but a viewing of Ratatouille and Up held me over for a few moments. One psychodelic thing that happened was that I saw a Pixar-related sticker on three different cars all immediately behind each other. First a Finding Nemo sticker, then a Cars sticker, and then one for Toy Story! This couldn’t have been a simple coincidence, but before I knew it I had entered the beautiful scenery of the Austrian Alps, and shortly after that the German border. I booked into my hotel (which had a very Up-like “adventure” theme), and slept quickly, as it was about 1 A.M.
Day 2: Not much happened today. I got an early preview of my camp site (yes, I was camping in the outdoors for my trip), and took in my surroundings once more. I would be staying in this secluded spot for the next 5-6 days, and I was nestled right behind a large green mountain, and several larger gray mountains, (including the Zuchspitze, which is supposedly the tallest mountain in Germany, but I may be wrong).
Day 3: Today was very exciting, because I got to take a hike to the top of the Zuchspitze. The first part was boring, but we soon went through the gorge formed by the river. That was definetally the highlight of the hike, and it was impossible to stay dry the entire time. When we got to the top we stopped for a Appelsaft and Schnitzel break before heading back down. We went over an old decaying bridge about 15 yards long over a height of about 500 feet. So in other words it was pretty tense. We also got to navigate the caves where we saw a black and blue salamander (which reminded me of Newt
).
Day 4: This was the best day, because I got to go white-water rafting in Austria! It was my favorite thing about my vacation, but I swear I got bitten by horse-flies at least 20 times.
Day 5: Today I learned archery for the first time and participated in Capture the Flag with about 199 other participants.
Day 6: While I continued to practice my archery, I also went to a fake-auction for stupid knick knacks. Stuff like dehydrated frogs and bags of Alpine air were sold, but it was fun nonetheless. However, people were really serious about this auction, and people were killing for the Monopoly money that was used as currency.
Day 7: It was a sad day, because it was the last day today. I went for archery almost the entire day today, and became really good by the end. I even won an award for participating at the range more than anyone else. I also saw a little kid with a Wall-E wallet! It was the coolest wallet I had ever seen, so I asked him where he got it and he ran away. At least I had proof that Germans loved Wall-E too! The end of the day was the closing campfire, and my group was put in charge of creating a skit to compete in the camp skit competition. We brought the house down and won first place! The skit was essentially a High School Musical version of the Monty Python and the Holy Grail’s Black Knight scene. It’s as silly as it sounds and suprisingly popular. However, I soon said good bye to the camp and left for the hotel again.
Day 8: We left Germany today, and it was a sad moment, so I put in Wall-E to cheer myself up (which worked as always). We stopped bby at Gardaland for the rest of the day, (an above-average Italian rip-off of Disney World). One ride in particular was so insane that they would never release it in America, but it was fun all in all. We stopped by at a hotel in Verona for the last night away from home.
Day 9: We left early, and I decided to watch The Pixar Story documentary (which amazes me every time I watch it). Before we left though, we stopped at the nearby American military base (my dad’s in the Army). At the book store there, they had two issues of the incredible Wall-E comic, (but I didn’t buy them because I already read them all). They had a Burger King and a Taco Bell! This might not sound impressive to you guys, but living in Italy is hard fast-food wise, and I hadn’t had BK in over 2 years. We came home at about 6 P.M.
Well, that’s it… What did you think? By the way, how are things over at Pixar Planet? Is there anything I missed while I was gone? Please tell me if so, because I’d love to know. It’s great to be home (both in Rome and on the forum)! I can’t wait to talk with you guys once more. Sincerely, Chuckles (Nick).
Welcome back, Chuckles! It sounds like you had a great trip!
Not much has been happening on here, but we’ve all been fine. ![]()
Glad to see you’re back Chuckles, and that you enjoyed yourself! I need to get over to Germany before I forget the German I learned in High School!
p.s. I wish I had a Wall-E wallet!
Welcome back Nick Chuckles!
It’s great you had an awesome holiday. And The Pixar Story fascinates me everytime I watch it too!
Wow, a lot of new people huh? Welcome all newcomers to Pixar Planet.
Sounds like you had a great time, Chuckles! Glad to see you back on the boards. ![]()
Welcome to Snipe, samhain88, and You’veGotAFriendInMe
! And welcome back to love70ways and Chuckles
! Hope you guys all have a great time!
Thanks for the warm greetings, everyone! I’ve been on here a few days (literally, I haven’t even been here a week) and I already feel completely at home! Thanks again! ![]()
By the way, Violet, is that your real name, or just your username? If it is your real name, I’d have to say that’s pretty cool, you liking the Incredibles so much and all.
After all this deciding and hiatus I’ve been on from here, I’ve made my decision.
I’m leaving Pixar Planet, but not forever. I will return when I’m 13.
I’m too young for these boards, I’m facing teens and adults, and I’m too young to be put through that. This has all been a pleasure. Some of the things you all have said have changed me, and your all so nice and sometimes help me in problems. The people on this forum are all so nice and kind, but I just can’t go through with it yet. I want to thank you all, you’ve changed my life and the way I view movies and animation. Without this board, I wouldn’t be the same kid.

Bye bye annarborjack! With over 900 posts you are certainly a valued member of the forums, and you will be missed. I admire that you are choosing to respect your own maturity and us Pixar Planet members.
Love70ways said it perfectly. Your post shows that you are very mature for your age as it is, I look forward to re-meeting you when you’re 13.
I agree wholeheartedly with the two posts above mine. We’ll definitely miss your presence on the boards, annaborjack, but I look forward to your return when you’re thirteen!
Bye, annaborjack!!! I hate when neat members leave…oh, I’m back, by the way.
