The "Introduction/I'm Back" Thread

It’s a shame to see you guys go. You both are really active posters and are popular with many members. I don’t have anything against your relationship, or other moderators. We would just like you two to follow the site rules.

I’ll miss you both. Don’t be gone too long please. Also, I hope the new member Destiny finds her way over here. I’ve just met her recently and she’s super nice to talk to!

Alright…I’m convinced, I’m not leaving. And so isn’t Sully.

I didn’t think Sully was. K, thanks for letting us know though.

Sully really never left, she came back like an hour later.

Meh, he’s right.

I THINK I’m back this time.

After nearly getting banned from PP, I left for awhile then tried to get back. Thing is, not only are the moderators keeping score and thus realize I’m ONE TINY, TINY STRAW away from being banned, and they’ll get rid at me at the first chance they can. Nothing against the moderators, they’re just doing their job.

Example?

I was thinking about starting a Cars 2 review thread. Then I realized one might already exist. I looked for one. I couldn’t find one, but I couldn’t risk making a topic for what might already exist. …Too bad, because I wanted to read some Cars 2 reviews.

Also in Cars, I was going to start a thread/topic/whatever on the horrible Cars 2 pull-up ad. Then I realized I might be being “inappropriate”, even though it’s the commercial itself that’s inappropriate (I’m not sure how it got on TV).

Almost every time I want to post I realize how what I’m about to say could be considered offensive. I’ve decided “eh, carpe diem” and will try to resume posting. Then again, I’d rather be an inactive user with posting rights, than a would-be active user who was booted out by force.

I’m sad. :frowning:

You have to be more careful, because of recent drama here, the mods have been more strict, Don’t try to start a fight.

The Chicken Man: I’m very sorry you feel that way. I feel that way sometimes, too. Here and in real life. You feel like you can’t really be yourself or share ideas and opinions without stepping on someone’s toes. I’m very sorry. But, let me just say, I have missed your posts a lot. I hate it when active members leave. I know a lot of other members have probably been mad at you, or upset you, but I never was personally. I like you, and your posts, and I hope you feel safe enough to stay.

Oh god. I missed drama while I was gone? Greeeeat. I’m more likely to get banned than I thought. Also, I don’t try to start fights. When I start them, it’s always an accident.

Thanks, that makes me feel better. Banning doesn’t bother me because of not being able to post, but because the emotional pain of being “kicked out”. Being banned from the MST3K Forum made me cry.

The members who were recently banned had disrespected the Mods on many occassions, and ignored/disobeyed our repeated reminders not to write one-worded posts that is spamming/cluttering the board. The one before that has been reported by other members for harrassing them via PM and making false threats.

Having been a member of many forums, I can say that the Mods here give a lot of second chances. We usually inform you if you break any of the rules, and we are wiling to give the benefit of the doubt, especially to younger members here.

I advise you read the announcements in the Pixar Planet sub-section, be kind and understanding to everyone, refrain from advertising or spamming, and check if a topic exists before starting a new thread to avoid unnecessary clutter.

If someone has a different opinion from you, don’t get personal. Get even by attacking his/her arguments.

“I respect your opinion, but I believe you forgot to mention this…”
instead of
“How is this film like that all? I think you just want to criticise this film for fun…” etc.

It’s very simple. Be polite to everyone, and we will have no reason to reprimand you. Besides, we will give you several warnings before we even consider a ban, so you’ll have more than two or three strikes to change your actions and make apologies.

Again, I highly recommend you follow the link above and read through all the announcements. I advise all other members to do the same. The Mods usually try to avoid calling people out, and as I’ve said, they’re very lenient, so if you’ve done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear.

The Chicken Man: It’s too bad you didn’t make that post, I’d like to see what ad you’re talking about. By the way, welcome back.

Hey The Chicken Man!

It was pretty mature of you to take a break upon realizing you might of been banned. I’m a mod, and I consider my mod team mates to be my virtual siblings, so it’s safe to say that I know we’re all kind and forgiving. It’s not like we want to cause drama or ban people. Banning is a last resort thing, and is rare.

We’re here for YOU to enjoy your time here, and make sure you’re at a safe place to share ideas.

Just follow the rules, and you’ll be fine!

I haven’t seen as much drama this week as last week.

Welcome back The Chicken Man! I remember your posts from a while back, and it’s nice to see you around again!

And yeah, there definately isn’t as much drama as last week. I tried to avoid it when I saw it, cause I don’t want to step on anybody’s toes

I’m back!
I had a wonderful time! I’ll go into fuller detail in the ‘What’s on your mind?’ thread, but for now I’ll just say that I really enjoyed myself in Colorado, but now I’m glad to be home!

Welcome back K9girl. So, where is my Souvenir?

Welcome back amiga!
