The "Introduction/I'm Back" Thread

Welcome back to PP definedancing!

Great to see you DD!!

I woulden’t say that long.

I also have seen you get on and off. You just havem’t posted. Welcome back though.

I don’t think I’ve been in the forum for about a year. I don’t post much in general even when I am, as you can see from my ratio of date joined to posts made :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve had quite an adventure in that time. In May I got very sick and got put in hospital. For the very first time in my life. On my 25th birthday.
It gets better. Turns out I had a brain tumour, so I was immediately rushed to the next city and into a hospital with a ward for people who could potentially die any moment.

A few days later I received brain surgery. It all went perfect, I’m just as I was, except for losing a few memories (unless my friends are messing with me :stuck_out_tongue:). The first night was terrible, I couldn’t move at all. After that I started to recover very quickly. Faster than the surgeons had seen in years. By the third day I was walking around the hospital and eager to go home, but I had to wait a week.

Unfotunately, during that week they examined the extracted tumour and discovered it was cancerous. Stage 4 (the worst). A month later - the day after I saw Cars 2 - I began radiation therapy to neutralise any cancer that might still be in my head. Every day (minus weekends) for six weeks. It wasn’t very pleasant…

Since then I have had two MRI scans that show I am now 100% cancer-free! To celebrate, I will visit the U.S.A and Disneyland in April

It’s been a long road to recovery. The drugs and radiation slightly screwed with my vision, hearing and hair, but it also made some things better. The long-term drugs fixed my painful back for good (from a car accident years back) and the radiation changed my appetite and taste-buds. I’m now healthier than ever - the bad food and drink that that I loved no longer appeals to me. Now I only eat things like salad and organic chicken, and only drink water and POM Wonderful.

I’m not sad or touchy or anything like that. I was making jokes the whole time. People seem to get awkward about cancer, but in my case they shouldn’t. I was always in the waiting room laughing with the other patients. So that’s my story. It felt good to write. Thanks for listening!

Welcome back Flister! It’s great that you survived the brain tumour.

Flister: I’m sad to say that I don’t remember you! I feel so bad! But I’m so glad that you’re back, and I’m even more glad that you beat cancer, you rock!

Welcome back Flister! I’m very happy to hear that you beat cancer.

Wow, Flister, that is an incredible story! I am so glad to hear that you’re doing excellently and especially that you’re completely cancer-free! It’s always so amazing to hear stories of people who survive cancer even after reaching the worst stages of it. It gives so much hope and is so inspirational!! Good on ya for kicking it right where it hurts, haha! You definitely deserve that trip to Disney, as well as a warm welcome back to PixarPlanet!

You defeated cancer? You’re my hero!!! Welcome back; maybe we can become friends now. I think we never talked before.

That’s awesome to here. Wish that could happen to everyone.

Welcome back Flister. I don’t know who you are because I joined last year in December. But welcome. And that is awesome that you survived cancer!

Thanks everyone!!

I’ll probably still post infrequently but I really like this forum. It’s so unlike any other I’ve seen. Everyone is genuine and nice to each other. It’s awesome. I think the positive themes in the Disney & Pixar films we grew up with really rubbed off haha.

Haha yay! Glad you’re such a big fan of the boards!

I definitely agree with you about the forums being great. I haven’t had any problems with anyone here.

Your welcome. Yeah it is the best forum that I have seen too.
