As most of you know, The Beauty and the Beast is being rereleased in 3d next year. The movie’s 3d is supposed to be amazing (according to John Lasseter). I know it’s not Disney, but wouldn’t it be cool if The Iron Giant was rereleased in 3D? It could bring a larger fanbase to the cult classic, and I’m sure that it would look awesome in in three dimensions.
An interesting prospect to say the least, I’d love to revisit this movie again, especially since I know so much more about Brad Bird, I can look to see what kind of stuff in the movie kind of parallel’s his style. I haven’t seen this movie in a LOOOONG time, but I have a poster for it next to my bed (kinda neat since I’ve had it for years, and now I’m all into Pixar)
I think it would be neat if The Iron Giant was rereleased in 3D. It’s a wonderful movie and I, too, think it would look great in 3D. Not to mention give it more attention than what it got when it was first released. It’s a great Brad Bird film that shouldn’t be overlooked!
I agree. Even though most of the scenes I already forgot.
The whole 3D thing is a TERRIBLE idea. The iron Giant is a great movie though, its a shame they would do this to that movie.
I’ve got a better grasp on how this whole 3D thing works now, and I’m not happy with it. I don’t want to see a great movie like this become subject to a gimmick to get more attention. It shouldn’t depend on technology, it should be all about the story and animation. I wouldn’t mind the attention it gets though, but the fact that it’d be because of the 3D irks me.
It’s an amazing movie, but I don’t really care for 3D. The way the movie is made is epic though. What I’d like to see…
Iron Giant 2, or a live action version!!
I don’t see any value in releasing traditional animated films in 3D to be honest…
I do hope they release it on Blu-ray soon. I really want to see it, in HD if possible. It’s also available to stream on my Xbox 360 for three euro’s. Should I just do that? I’m quite curious about the film by now, with all the references on the Incredibles dvd.
I personally wouldn’t bother, as I can pick it up from Wal*Mart for five bucks. (Which I should probably do, haven’t seen this movie in years)
Now, I do realize I supported the TS1/2 3-D viewing, but obviously that’s a much different case for a Pixar fan like myself.
I honestly think the whole 3D thing is going to kill movies in the end… it just seems to me that with 3D, the creators of the film will then find something that will purposely be useful in 3D. May it be a pick axe flying at the screen, or someone just splashing water, they all seem to be done on purpose in 3D movies…
And as for re-releasing them in 3D… a horrible idea as well, because to me it looks like they are only doing it for the money, not because it is “classic”.
Huh? Interesting. I think I may have seen that movie maybe once or twice although seeing it in 3D may be quite interesting so I would have to say yes to that.
I honestly wouldn’t care whether it’s in 3D or not, it would just make me happy to see it re-released at all.
ditto.
ive only seen it a couple of times on tv, so it would be great to see it on the big screen. regardless if its 3d or not.
