Thank you for saying what really needed to be said.
Me too. She didn’t seem the type, and I don’t mean that in a bad way.
Haha, no problem. I’m just ashamed to say it took so long for people finally to care.
I don’t quite get the people who say that they don’t ‘agree’ with their lifestyle? What is there to ‘agree’ or ‘disagree’ about? It’s as silly as saying you ‘agree’ or ‘disagree’ with tall people - it’s just totally ridiculous, lol.
Great video, great campaign, great message.

So true!
Hmm… I thought there was another ‘It Gets Better’ thread around here somewhere.
You can read my thoughts about gay equality to commemorate ‘International Day Against Homophobia’ last week, but I just want to say massive kudos to Pixar for spreading the love!
I didn’t know Darla was gay. Is she?
A really nice article, TDIT.
Like you, I also know like two gays from university. They’re also a little ***chy, as you call them, but I consider them as my friends.
I don’t care too much about the whole phenomenon while they keep it decent. I don’t wanna hear people bragging about their sexuality, no matter if they’re gay or straight.
And yes, Darla is.
I’m so glad we are of the same opinion, SoA.
I, too, share your ambivalence towards homosexuals. It’s the same thing with interracial couples. Why should we feel threatened or insecure by their presence? I’m actually more interested when I see a couple of different races, or a gay couple.
Love is a beautiful thing if it’s between two consenting adults.
And really, Public Displays of Affection, be it between heteros or homos, just irks me. I mean, hand-holding and cheek-pecking is okay, but if it gets into ‘French Kissing’ territory, it starts to get annoying.
This is not about being Liberal or Conservative. This is about basic human decency and freedom.
We should not let religion mix with government or politics. Or the personal affairs of others. Again, it’s two consenting adults, not a kid, or a horse, or a chair. Why should we feel offended/scared/disgusted?
If anything, Pixar is taking the right step towards societal progressivism instead of sticking with Stone-Age principles of “Man must marry a woman, Man goes to work, Woman stays at home and makes babies”, etc.
I just saw the It Gets Better video just last week. i thought that it was a strong message, but it definetely got me thinking.
I was definitely a bit surprised to see Darla in there.
Then this will BLOW YOUR MIND… Darla and Kori Rae are actually married.

Reading through this article gave me such a warm and fuzzy feeling. Couldn’t have started a day better than that.
That’s awesome, Pricklepants! As someone who is for gay rights and is very glad to see DOMA struck down, the news that Darla and Kori are together is great, especially because of their link with having produced both Monsters films.
Thank you so much for that article! What a sweet love story there.
The producer of Monsters Inc. and the producer of Monsters University got married? Twice? That’s really sweet and cool.
And I’m glad to hear that Pixar is a gay-friendly place to work.

Not surprising, it’s a stones throw from SF.
