Well, what do you think?
I think it’s a really sweet video with a good message. I’m not gay but I did have a hard time in school and it really did seem never-ending. But after a couple of months in college I knew things really do get better. It hasn’t even been that long since I went to school but my life is already so much happier.
Also, its pretty brave of Pixar to release a video like this. A lot of companies associated with “family friendly” products shy away from these sorts of things because they’re worried that somebody will get offended or something, so its cool that they’ve contributed to this cause. I hadn’t heard of it before today (possibly because I don’t live in the States and possibly because I don’t personally need to look up LGBT-related stuff). I think that even people who perhaps disagree with LGBT lifestyles can at least appreciate that videos like these are good- they’re helping young people through tough times.
Not gonna lie. I teared up. It was sooo wonderful just wow. I’m not gay but, I dont have anything against them either there was a friend of mine who was and got beaten up and taunted for it. No one should go through that.
wow.
That was very touching.
I’m not gay (heck, I’m only 13, who knows what I am at this point?) but I believe that love is love no matter what gender.
It is such a beautiful video. I loved the final message.
And it is so true, people used to laugh at me on school (i am not a lesbian but just putting an example), but now that i´m on high school everyone is so nice
I’m not a part of the gay community, but I think this goes further than that, so we can all relate. I hate when I hear someone killed himself for feeling different, in any way.
I think it’s a nice move from all these companies to promote the hope. Life is priceless.
I think bullying needs to stop…what I wonder is why are they bring this out now…why not eariler?..NO one deserves to get bullied even if they are gay…However I don’t want people to confuse disagreeing with their lifestyles as bullying…we all have our diffrent thoughts…and it’s perfectly ok to disagree with their lifestyles…the way I see it I don’t like anyone to be bullied because I know how it feels, but I’m not changing my views and I’m NOT letting anyone change my views…
I already know I’m going to get smart remarks so I’m just getting prepared for it…
I couldn’t really care less about somebody’s sexuality. I even have a relative who’s gay.
My uncle’s gay, and I used to have a gay friend(she was female ). I have nothing against them as people, and they do not deserve to be bullied or killed. I do not agree with them, but you can’t kill someone over something as silly as that. It’s none of your business, and there’s no reason to kill someone except self defense.
Post removed.
Exactly. Only, I’m pretty sure I disagree with them. I just despise bullying.
A Lovely Place
The world could be a lovely place, If we would let it be
The world could be a lovely place, If only we could see
What we’re really doing when we make someone cry
There are so many people who just want to die
We scorn them; we ruin their lives
They want to cut themselves with knives
Can’t we be kind?
Stop tormenting that kid’s mind
I think we should love these people as the one who loves us
We should not fight, mock, or fuss
They have as much right as you or I
To live free of fear that we will make them cry
The world could be a lovely place, If we would let it be
The world could be a lovely place, If only we could see
I will choose to love them, just to let them be
For they are the ones who can really see
What a lovely place the world could be
According to the article I read, it’s a project started this year, a collaboration between various companies.
So that’s why: it’s not a Pixar initiative they made up overnight. They are just one of the many companies that did a video for the project.
Yeah, this is why. I think the project started because there were some high-profile suicides amongst gay teens recently in the states, so some people decided to try and prevent more tragedies. Although, I do think that more should have been done to stop homophobic bullying (Or bullying in general) earlier- its been around for some years now. But that’s nothing to do with the people involved in the project- they just wanted to get involved because things were looking worse.
On a side note, I’m glad that people are responding positively to this video even if they personally do not agree with the lifetsyles of those it’s adressing. Even though I disagree with your stance on things myself, I admire the fact that you can make well-reasoned judgements on things such as this video, rather than simply bashing it for its LGBT associations. You guys are way more understanding than a lot of people on the internet
We try. I just don’t want to cause someone sadness. Anyone. Everyone deserves friends and happiness.
I LOVE it! The Trevor Project is amazing, and Pixar isnt’ the first people to do it. Google has a video, Daniel Radcliffe has one, and other companys do too!
I’m sorry to say that it took so long for this sort of thing like the Trevor Project to start up. I know some people get all worked up about the whole Homosexual thing, which suprises me. But then again I live an hour from San Francisco, so I’m so use to it not being a huge deal. It’s like, whatever. You’re life. I remember meeting people from Texas and they thought it was horrible to even talk about it. It’s sad, really.
…Is Daniel Radcliffe gay?
According to what I’ve read, he’s not, but he’s a rights activist.
I don’t care either way, really, if they just stick to the professionalism, like Ian McKellen.
…Is Daniel Radcliffe gay?
Nope, but he belives in a little idea called equal rights, which our country seems to be forgetting about.
That was different. It was very emotional, all in all. That one guy who was talking about his apartment with his lover…that was pretty heavy stuff.
I was definitely a bit surprised to see Darla in there.
