My prediction? Toy Story 3 will sweep the floor with Airbender. garanteed.
The Toy Story 3 teaser wasn’t one that gets your heart racing (even if mine did, but Im just that fanatical about it that any new animation I see of these characters will do that do me). The Toy Story fanchise is just huge. you have both kids, and the adults who used to be kids when the original released that are goign to see this.
Also, this movie will be promoted more than any disney/Pixar movie in recent history. You cant really beat Disney when it comes to marketing. It’ll be force fed down everyones throats and they’ll love every bite.
I’m sure Toy Story 3 will win. But I’m sure both of em will make some big bucks
im with you. im interested in The Last Airbender but toy story is awesome.
YEAH! Finally someone who cares.
There’s no way The Last Airbender will beat out Toy Story 3.
TS3 is made by Pixar, a loved and trusted company that continues to please and surprise, and TLA is made by the same director as Signs, can’t remember his name, and Signs was the only good movie by him in a lot of people’s opinions.
While Avatar: The Last Airbender was a popular show, now it’s pretty much already died down, and kids will not know it’s the same thing because of the obvious live-action/cartoon difference.
The Toy Story series is loved by all ages and will have a cult following, so adults, teens like myself who grew up with Toy Story, kids new to the franchise who want to see more characters like Wall-E or Carl, who were pioneers in that they don’t have their own foundation yet and are winging it by introducing new characters and environments that kids aren’t familiar with and want to see anyways. TS3 will seem like an original movie to them.
I agree TLA will be popular, but there’s not a chance it will outsell TS3.
When I saw the teaser with Transformers 2. Kids were saying "Hey, Avatar! I know that show!’
and so…
Avatar is one of the coolest series in tv, and it will be an excelent movie, but its nearly impossible that this movie beats toy story 3
They both would be great movies
I’m a Pixar fan. I am also an Avatar (TLA) fan.
But I had a strong feeling that Avatar will flop by reviews. But with the amount of cumulative, probably it’ll soar sky high. Avatar do have a large fan base.
As for TS3, they will break the box office chart, but honestly (Caution: I’m a huge TS fan), Avatar wins.
It will be REALLY DIFFICULT for the last airbender to beat toy story
1 Toy story has HUGE fan base and thy are not only kids and teenagers, adults dont like avatar that much
2 ask a person ¿who s aang? they will say: “CHEES I DON T KNOW” Ask a person ¿who s buzz lightyear? and see what they answer to you
3 American director s SUCKS for remakes(no offense, but see godzilla 98 if you dont believe me), the movie will problably be full of cliches , bath scenes and all that stuff
I am excited for TLA because I love the show, but I don’t really know what to expect. I hope TS3 does better critically and in the box office.
It’ll be interesting, because both Toy Story and Toy Story have one of the few 100% fresh ratings on Rotten tomatoes. but those movies came out before there were people dead set against taking cheap shots at pixar for no reason other than to get people riled up. so its nearly impossible the 3rd will continue that trend, but I wonder just how high it’ll manage to stay.
I loved the Avatar show, but because the film is live-action I suspect it won’t do so well as Toy Story 3. The TV show had an excellent animated style, one of the best I’ve seen in a long time, quite why they didn’t carry that into the film is beyond me.
However if the core of the show remains in the film, with that brilliant mythos built up over the three seasons, and it isn’t all chained into consumer product fodder then it may be a good film. Here’s hoping it doesn’t ruin the franchise…
