I finished Book 4! Seriously,I have never read a book that long so fast. Although my record of longest book I have ever read is only 543 pages. Yeah… But I can think of this book is this:
This book is the best one yet! Tyson is back,Chris is back,Hades is back (for like,5 words) And Nico is back! One thing I loved about this book is that [spoil]Grover finally found Pan![/spoil] and we learned more about Tyson’s past. But really, there were some parts in the book were I screamed out loud when [spoil]Percy had this dream about that Labyrinth guy killed his own nephew[/spoil] and [spoil] whenTyson was knocked off his feet by a giant snake[/spoil] This book was also was also very suspenseful and I could not stop reading it. To tell you the truth, this might be the best book I have ever read. Also I thought the ending was so cute! How [spoil]Paul and Tyson came to Percy’s birthday party and Percy’s mom got an extra cake because of Tyson. Also how Paul purposed to Percy’s mom. (isn’t her name Sally?) And Poseidon showed up![/spoil] And on the back the book said its cliffhanger ending will live fans holding there breath in anticipation for Book 5. I was like What? The book ends happily! (or does it? )
I give this book a
10/10
Yeah, Battle of the Labyrinth was really good. The Last Olympian is even better, though, if not a bit tiring to read (the last half is pretty much fight after fight after fight, with little time to rest) and be prepared for a good amount of death scenes.
My favorite is still the first, though.
Hey! Aww,man. Death scenes! I’ve only read like,3 books with death scenes.
People I will cry if they die:
Tyson (in fact,I might sob,he’s one of my favorites!)
Chrion
Grover (in fact,I’ll sob! hes one of my favorites!)
Annabeth (in fact,I’ll sob!)
Nico
Thila (in fact,I’ll sob!)
The ones I think I might cry the most if they die are Grover and Tyson,my two favorites! Although its kinda obvious Tyson dies. And don’t tell me if he does!
EDIT:
I finished the last book! I loved it! The new great prophecy is creepy
Scary! I love there prizes!
Tyson:General of the Cyclops army!
Grover:Member of the Council of the Cloven Elders!
Annabeth: Gets to remake Olympus!
Percy:Makes an oath.
And Rac_Rules was right, there were some death scenes
Some death scenes that make me cry were [spoil]Selina’s and Luke’s. Ugh,I almost wanted to sob when Luke died. But I was in school at the time And I thought Beckeforth’s death scene was a little sad. One scene that made me almost cry was when that giant destroyed stuff by accident and kept saying “Opps” and how it reminded him of Tyson. [/spoil] Speaking of Tyson, thankfully he didn’t die. Neither did Grover!
I give the book a 8/10

They’re good books, not quite Harry Potter, though. Good point abouot the title…it’s enormously long to fit onto a poster or a screen…but I guess you couldn’t just call it anything else.
The movie looks interesting. I’ve never read the books. I thought they were just for kids, then again the Harry Potter books are my favorite book series so maybe I will give them a try?
My buddy in the UK says that down in the Uk there calling it “Percy Jackson and The Lighting Thief”
I love the clever use of mythology in the books, and that ought to be exciting to see on the big screen. I just don’t know how many of the younger set really read about the legends in any depth before they read the books.
Did you guys hear that in the movie, the characters are 17 years old. That messes everything up! What about the prophecy involving Percy’s 16th birthday? I’m still gonna see this though, I’ve been waiting forever for it.
I’m going to see it opening day! It looks very interesting.
I just got back from seeing this a few hours ago. The only thing that makes me mad is that [spoil]Dinoysus, Clarisse, and Ares were not in the film or mentioned at all! Also, the characters are seventeen instead of twelve.[/spoil]
All I’ve heard about this series of books and the film is that it’s basically a rip-off of the Harry Potter series, which is a shame if so as I like the idea of using Greek mythology in a series like this. Anything to get younger people interested in classic literature sounds good to me!
I don’t see it as a rip-off, but it is very similar to Harry Potter. Although it’s way better! (Twilight is better then both of them, but that’s just my opinon)
