Personally, I’m excited. Many disagree, but I liked the style of the first two Harry
Potter movies, and it seems just perfect for the epic-but-quirky style of PHatO. I love the books, and the movie looks awesome.

Casting:

* Logan Lerman as Percy
* Brandon T. Jackson as Grover Underwood.
* Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth Chase
* Jake Abel as Luke Castellan
* Catherine Keener as Sally Jackson
* Pierce Brosnan as Chiron

1 thing I’m not crazy about: casting. A 40 year old man is playing Grover, and frankly, I don’t think he looks the part. The cast seemed very “attractive and big actors that will make us look good.” I mean, Annabeth isn’t even blonde (though she may dye her hair) and along with Lerman, looks rather old to be twelve.

Still, I already can’t wait for the movie of the last book. It. Will. Be. Utter. Epicness.

I read the first one and absolutely enjoyed it! I never got around to the others though. Although, this is a must see for me

Oh my God, read the rest! They are really good! The fifth is the best, in my opinion, and you won’t understand it unless you read the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

I haven’t read the series, but I’m curious about this movie. I agree with you about the first two Potter films (most faithful), and that’s my main attraction to this movie right now.

One thing I just realized: By the time the last movie comes out (supposing the entire series gets filmed) Lerman (Percy) will be 21. Playing a 16 year old. Right…

I mean, he’ll be 19 when Percy is 14. Like to see them work that out.

For about 10 seconds during the trailer I thought they had made a live action Gargoyles flick. About wet myself. (Although I would think I would have heard about it wayyyyy before hand).
Anyways, this looks interesting. Never heard off it before now. Will have to look further into it.

New trailer!

EDIT:My god,a poster!

EDIT:Oh wow, can’t believe it! Another poster!

Whenever this trailer plays I always hear comments after asking what the name of the movie was. Not because it piqued their interest more then other trailers, but because the name is so friggin long, the font used to spell it out is hard to read (especially with the added effects on top of it) and not on screen for nearly long enough.

errm, pause it when it gets to the title? When me and mah buds when to see Harry Potter, they showed the trailer and I could hear people saying stuff like “Oh sweet!” “Ohh I love that book!” “Oh wow can’t wait!” So…

Um… excuse me Mr. Projectionist up there. Can you rewind that and pause it?

Yeah, no. That doesn’t work in theaters.

I read the first book, and enjoyed it pretty well. I’m not that fond of the movie, but Logan Lerman seems perfect for Percy Jackson, and the director of the first two Harry Potter movies is directing…

YEAH!!! I SO can’t wait for this film! I know many people say that the film may be bad (just judging by the cast and trailers), but I believe that it could be pretty good! (It could even be the next Harry Potter! Twilight-haters unite! :sunglasses: ) The guy who directed it should be doing a good job, considering he directed the first two Harry Potters and I enjoyed those, so I can’t wait!

Also, look at what I found on another site…The first teaser poster! Enjoy!

looks interesting. i haven’t read it but i might see it

raises sword Lets do this!

puts ammo in the machine gun :smiling_imp: Alright! A supporter! Sorry to go off-topic, but maybe I should start a new topic about Twilight-haters for this or does this forum already have one?

I just finished Book 1 and I’m on Book 2.

I just finished Book 2! I loved it! Tyson was hilarious, too! I thought the Hermes scene was funny, too! Grover is still hilarious! I also hate how he had a kinda small part in the book. [spoil]I love the ending! Okay here is how the book ends. Tyson tells Percy that he’s going to Mount Olympus for the rest of the summer,Percy says bye,and he takes off. And then he gets the letter from Poseidon with only 2 words “Brace Yourself” and then he has the dream where he’s following Tyson into Mount Olympus and then they both look at him and say “Brace Yourself” That’s creepy. And then,Thalia![/spoil]

EDIT:New Poster Guys!

I love it! Exactly like the cover! Also they announced a new trailer befroe New Moon!

Ooooh!..

Gets sparkly eyed due to its bad-Aness.

Wow! :open_mouth: That was one of the most interesting posters I’ve seen in a while! Yeah, it does look exactly like the cover (it’s at a different angle, but whatever, it’s even cooler that way  )

Well,…you can expect me to wait for it online then, because I’m most likely not going to see that film… (in other words: definitely not going to see it! :stuck_out_tongue: )

I just finished Book 3 last night and I started reading Book 4! Here is my review.

The Tian’s Curse, My Review
Plot:
Percy gets a distress call from Grover,so him and his 2 friends,Annabeth and Thia go and meet him at an old school were he found two half bloods. They try to get them away, but they fail and Annabeth falls off a cliff and the god Artemis,is missing. So guess what? They go on another quest to save them! But they are interrupted by The General, a servant of the Titan lord Kronos.

Well,I didn’t really like this one,it would get really boring and sometimes a little dark at times. And when I say ‘dark’ I mean 2 saying, one, the book mostly takes place at night. But it was okay. [spoil]We also had our first death scene! :open_mouth: [/spoil] And they get attacked by a mechanical giant. And Bianca gets the ‘Tyson Treatment’ If you know what I mean. Speaking of Tyson,he had such a small part in the book! He appeared only 2 times, and he was mentioned (by name, not cyclops) when Percy and Bianca were talking. And I find it creepy that Nico [spoil]is a son of Hades[/spoil] Well I give the book a 6/10
