This is just a fun little topic of discussion; we all know that the Buzz Lightyear toyline in the movie was based off a fictional TV series, so how would you invision it? There’s the obvious Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, but Pixar barely had a role in that.
For me, here’s what I’d like to see:
For Buzz to be drawn the way he is seen in the merchandise seen in Toy Story
Anti-Buzz becoming a character
All of Buzz’s additional, real-life suits put to use for certain situations (can you say Christmas special?). Maybe even an introduction of the utility belt
Buzz’s space ranger training that he speaks so much of
Maybe an episode that revolves around Buzz’s circumstances before Buzz is put into hypersleep, where all the Buzz Lightyear toys wake up from (Zurg is building a weapon powerful enough to anhilate an entire plantet)
If anything, it would be a prequel to the Buzz Lightyear of Star Command series, since Buzz never made reference to any of his comrades, and he didn’t seem to recognize the Squeeze Toy Aliens
To begin with, I’d love if the intro we saw in a scrapped story board was used- i.e. Zurg has Buzz strapped down, with two giant robots (which were later used at Pizza Planet as guards) to destroy him, yet Buzz manages to defeat them all, but Zurg of course escapes to fight another day.
More about Buzz going on “black bag” missions- i,e, without Star Command’s authority, hence the - “This is a secret mission, in uncharted space-- Let’s go!” voice byte as one of Buzz’s sound clips
I did enjoy part of BLOSC, things with him and Mira, and there’s even a Booster toy seen in one of the Toy Story comic books- I just simply hated XR with a passion.
Anti-Buzz sounds very cool, kind of like Red Skull from Captain America.
Something about Zurg being Buzz’s father. Definitely -Omar
The reason for not recognizing the Aliens is because they are not from the “Buzz Lightyear” francise in Toy Story. They are cheap little aliens that were created specifically for Pizza Planet. Hence their symbols on their suits are Pizza Planets, a whole pizza with the planet ring around it.
They were just added to the Of Star Command series because they are popular from the movies, and they could fit since they are aliens. The only real relation they and Buzz have is they are both Toy’s in Andy’s collection.
I agree with what everyone has said so far. That would be a really cool series.
I think Buzz Lightyear of star command covered it pretty well. I watched it every morning and loved it. I think it would be cool now to see some Woody’s round-up episodes.
