This video is SO scary,I had nightmares!

I found that video kinda cute. What do you find so scary about it, annarborjack?
I have to agree with Rachel, it’s not scary, it’s kinda cute. Actually, I chuckled a bit while seeing this video.
I found that more cute than scary too.
I found it rather disturbing in a hysterical way. I laughed at several parts, but for the most part I was like “Uh, who came up with this scene?”
Mature themes in a show for 5 year olds!
Okay, the Japs one is much more cuter+funnier than Elmo’s one.
I’m with annarborjack on this one. That video was generally a bit weird. Plus, Elmo scares me.
Sort of reminds me of this Italian “kids’” TV show I saw when in Rome, called Cochinella (the Italian for ladybird, I believe). One episode basically involved them beating up the pet dog that they own, and I don’t mean just the usual cartoon violence. Plus, for some reason, the way the animators had drawn the people put some very strange emphasis on the, er, nether-regions of their clothes…It just didn’t look right at all.
Aaanyway, back on topic…
As I mentioned before in the Vacation thread, the fact that they were showing such provocative content in children’s shows and how they treat animal abuse lightly is absolutely appalling… I’d like to know what’s the name of that show so I can write to the producers to fire the writers…
As for the Elmo vid, I wouldn’t exactly call it mature… kids have to be taught to potty-train some day. It’s more of a surreal sensation of seeing Elmo’s dad sing to his son and watching a sock puppet do its business (with a hand up its…).
If you want to see something truly freaky, THIS should do the trick. Be warned though, once you’ve seen it (it’s not adult or anything, but it’s weird as heck), you won’t be able to get the image out of your head… It’s giving me the jeebies now just thinking about it.
Those Japanese can think up some pretty weird &*$%.
That is freaking SCARY! Now I can’t sleep! Curse you TDIT!!! Jk.
Is it the scary car? Ugh,I hate the scary car.
Far from it, jack. Let’s just say it involves poodles and aerobics music.
Terrifying isn’t it, wannabechef? I hope it didn’t traumatise you too much.
We should use this thread to post scary videos (although it’s quite similar to the dumpster of mild amusement). Just try to keep it PG-rated, folks, so no gory slasher scenes please.
In Japan, there is no object that you can’t put a face on and turn it into a character or a mascot. That kid at the end, so cute!
The poodle video, though… With weird videos there’s a line between normal and abnormal and it’s when you can make a video that straddles the line between entertaining and creepy, that you’re successful. The fact that the girl goes ahead and gives instructions as if having arms and legs like that is nothing unusual makes it strange.
Terrifying? It’s INSANE! This is the weirdest video I ever watch in my entire life!
Agree. And I think we should have a video thread or something so we can share funny videos or scary like this one. Well, I recommend These guys.
Scary video that might interest you guys. Now this IS scary! (via @cathicks)
Good thing this thread was started in a timely fashion. What better month to start sharing the scariest videos on the Internet than October?
wannabechef: My word, that is creepy. Although it’s probably the [spoil]ghost of Walt Disney.[/spoil] Aw… [spoil]even in death, Uncle Walt still roams his most cherished of places.[/spoil] Not to mention it’s [spoil]right in front of Haunted Mansion, which, is like, the spookiest spot in the whole of Disneyland.[/spoil]
Rachel: I love Japanese personification! Although I wish I hadn’t seen that vid (my friend showed it to me before two years ago)… the sight of a giggling stool is not exactly ‘aw’-inducing… I liked the demo at the end, though. I should get one for my loo too…
I believe THIS this the scary car commercial annaborjack was referring to… trust me, even after having watched this, I leaped out of my seat when the scary part came! In fact, it’s so hair-raising, I’ll even tell you at what second it occurs so you’re prepared:
[spoil]00:15[/spoil]
Be sure to read the vid description before you watch it and turn up the volume! And good luck keeping your pants clean!
I should watch this every time I feel sleepy, great pick-me-up!
TDIT: Well, I hope Eddie Murphy will make a sequel about that. And the video does scary, but I’ve seen it a LOT of time…funnily I still freaked out by it. I decided NOT to watch.
Perhaps this is scary. YouTube police soon will remove this video. Okay, this is [spoil]Toy Story 3 OFFICIAL trailer.[/spoil] (SPOILER) Guess I put the video at the wrong place. XD
This isn’t a video, but I came across a quite puzzling Photoshopped image/art piece. The series of photos is called “Understanding Joshua”. The specific one I’m talking about is the one with the milk in the shower. That particular photo is probably safe for all ages, and there isn’t anything sexual or graphic about it, but it’s just… yeah. Then again, I’m drawn to anything that simultaneously scares and intrigues me.
[spoil]Heh heh,I bet when people see the “Next Summer” people will think “But we just had summer!” [/spoil]
My word, Rachel, after Googling the Joshua piece and having a look at it, I found it truly disturbing. I mean, you said it wasn’t matured and all, but the guy is buck naked! (Well okay, he’s an animal hybrid, but you can see like his ‘hair’ and stuff). And there were probably sexual overtones with those two big guys and the carton of milk and poor Joshua being held against his will while he watches the blonde get humiliated. I found it… weird. Very confronting, that’s for sure.
For someone who’s doing a Digital Arts degree, I’ve seen a lot of these postmodern pieces, and I don’t ‘get’ them. Only once I’ve read the artist’s explanation and had a second look, I can probably squeeze some meaning out of them. But darn it, most of the time I just look and go “What on earth is this suppose to mean?” I prefer more traditionalist art, like Van Goh paintings and all those stuff with pretty aesthetics. I can take a few po-mo pieces if they are mash-ups and have an interesting enough juxtaposition, but the truly out-there-ones, I just scratch my head, and go “Wuht?” Not a fan, but just my artistic opinion.
I rambled again. Short of it: Joshua scares the h*ll out of me. The other more ‘adult’ in nature pics of him are pretty freaky too. shudders
