This is a really great blog series that was posted on another forum that talks about the different shots used in WALL-E and how they were effective in telling the story and setting the tone for various scenes. A really great read for potential filmmakers.

And there’s more to come in the future!
Ohhh. This is one of the things I was thirsting for. Instead of “isn’t wall-e cute” and “i just loved the movie”, something a step beyond all that. I never got anyone familiar with animation techniques or the soundtrack to post on my thread from a month ago.
Thanks for the link Le_chocolat.
That’s really interesting! The blogger is right- the shots used in WALL-E, especially in the first half, are what really drives the story and entraces the audience. Thanks for the link, Le_Chocolat!
Thanks, Le Chocolat! I love reading about movie commentaries and discussions, articles like these inspire me. Some people like critiquing on soccer teams, or the latest fashion, or which was the best song from the 80s… for me, film theory is absolute brain candy for me! My friends and siblings wonder why I read such ‘boring’ film study books, but they’re my kind of non-fiction reading (ironically though, the films which form the contents themselves are fiction!)
Thanks again for the link! I can’t wait for the rest of the shot types by the author!
