TSS - There was a bit of “controversy” surrounding that part of the movie, I heard. I don’t see what the big deal is, though…
I want to see this movie very bad >_o The previews look awesome!
Deidara: If you think the previews were awesome, you will love the movie. I hope you will get a chance to see it one day.
My favourite quote had to be Ralph’s - [spoil]I like men now.[/spoil] So, so funny!
Hahaha! That was great! There was such a lead up to that! But my fav part was probably “Spider-Pig”, not just because it was funny, but because everybody (including me) in the theater sang along to it!
I never saw The Simpsons Movie. It’s probably still in theatres around here, but I think I’ll wait for the DVD. The Simpsons is funny, but I don’t think I’d pay 10 bucks to see it. =P
Oh, lennonluvr9, I absolutely love “Spider-Pig”! I was crazy after I heard that song. Seriously, it has been stuck in my head for about one week.
This is kinda off-topic, but sometimes, I do what Homer did with the pig during the Spider-Pig song to my little puppy, Maltese. It is so cute, but I never put him upside down. Just stand him up so it looks like he is climbing the walls.
TSS - That is really cute! Do you sing the song as well?
Sometimes, I put my cat upside down whilst holding him. He’s used to it, though.
Yes, but a little modified version of it (note, my puppy’s name is Bentley).
Yay! The Spider-Pig song was in the charts! That’s just so cool.
This thread is for the TV show as well so I thought I’d let everyone in on what to expect for the nineteenth season of the show.
Season nineteen is scheduled to include guest appearances by Stephen Colbert, Lionel Richie, Alan Moore, Placido Domingo, Maya Rudolph, Jon Stewart, Matt Dillon, Dan Rather, Keith Olbermann, Kurt Loder, " Weird Al" Yankovic, Steve Buscemi, Dan Clowes, Art Spiegelman, Jack Black, Topher Grace, and Terry Gross.
Plopper and Colin from The Simpsons Movie are scheduled to make the first apperances in the series.
The season premire will air on September 23rd, with the episode, He Loves to Fly and He D’oh’s.
Here’s the Wikipedia article for the episode:
The Simpsons Movie is full of the anarchic, generous, good-natured humor that is the show’s enduring signature.
[b]Bill/b]- Dan Clowes as in Daniel Clowes? That’s awesome.
I was wondeirng, what is your favorite Simpsons episode? One of mine would have to be The Day The Violence Died.
I remember when the Who Shot Mr. Burns two-parter aired, and I was really excited about it. It’s a favourite. But there are other episodes I like even more:
- Homer the Great (awesome quotes… “Helloooo, my name is number oooone!” and “Attach the stone of TRIUMPH!”)
- Cape Feare (probably my favourite Sideshow Bob eppy)
- Lisa’s Substitute (this was a very sad episode… did they ever bring Mr. Bergstrom back in a recent episode? I hope not, because that would crush a beautiful meaning in this eppy…)
Cape Feare would have to be my favorite Sideshow Bob episode as well. The only other Sideshow Bob episode that could compete with it is Brother from Another Series . But, of course, we’ve got the upcoming Sideshow Bob episode this season (season 19) that will feature John Mahoney as Sideshow Bob’s father.
Another favorite of mine is El Viaje Misterioso De Nuestro Jomer. That has spetacular animation in the second act with Homer’s hallucinations (most of it was done by David Silverman, co-director of Monsters, Inc. and director of The Simpsons Movie). Johnny Cash as the coyote was fun as well (quote - “Pff… are you kiddin’ ? “chuckle” If anything, you should get more possessions. You don’t even have a computer.”)
That eppy has one of the best Simpsons lines EVER!
“Sunrise… sunset… sunrise… sunset… SUNRISE, SUNSET… SUNRISE SUNSET, SUNRISE, SUNSET, SUNRISE, SUNS -sun breaks”
“Note to self… stop, doing, anything…” XD
I know! Those lines are absolutely hysterical. How about this one from the first act :
Dr. Hibbert : By all medical logic, steam should be shooting out of his ears.
Krusty: His ears if we’re lucky…
The twenty-first season of the show is set to air on Setember 27. The show has also now surpassed Gunsmoke as the longest-running primetime American television series.
