Sooo… how exactly long is this movie?
If I remember correctly, it is just under two hours.
I thought it was OK. I’d give it a 7/10.
I didn’t care for the movie…5/10.
I quite dislike the new seasons of The Simpsons, so I really wasn’t too sure about this film. However, I saw this last week and enjoyed it very much. It’s not without its faults, however. There are plenty of jokes in it, was very easy to watch, and is an enjoyable 90 minutes.
I still think a Simpsons film about ten years ago, when it was at its best, probably would have been amazing. This was still a very good film though, and one I’ll definitely buy it on DVD when it comes out.
Hey, not bad for an opening weekend. I see that the website gave it a B+. Which is usually great. I can’t wait to see it.
I saw it last Friday and I really liked it (incidentally, the movie’s about an hour and a half, could be longer, depending on how many previews there are). I’ll most likely buy the DVD (or put it on my Christmas list, depending on when it comes out). I was laughing so much. And everybody in the theater sang along to “Spider-Pig”. It was so freaking hilarious!
They get a laugh out of Spider-Pig? Everytime I see that part, I fall out of my chair, my gut exploding with laughter.
Rachel - Well, the show will never be of the same quality of the early seasons, but in my opinion, it’s still great fun.
Here’s the Wikipedia article if you’re interested in viewing it:

Many of the show’s writers from the early seasons were chosen for the film.
Here are the writers:
Matt Groening
Al Jean
Mike Scully
James L. Brooks
David Mirkin
George Meyer
Mike Reiss
John Swartzwelder
Jon Vitti
Matt Selman
Ian Maxtone-Graham
TSS - I don’t know if they like Spider-Pig. They haven’t seen the movie yet. I’m guessing they will like Spider-Pig. Personally, I don’t see what’s so funny about it…
Bill - Thanks for that. I wish Brad Bird or Conan O’Brien could have helped work on the movie, but they were busy with other projects, I guess.
Well, I saw it last night, and I loved it! The storyline was wacky, the characters were all at
their best, and the humour was as Simpson-esque as you can get. The most random things led to other random things, but that’s what made it so enjoyable! I give it an eight out of ten.
I just saw this movie. I thought it was really, really funny. However, I think it dragged when it got to the end.
Yeah, a lot of other people said it dragged out a bit, even though the film isn’t very long. I might give it a chance though, seeing as it got good reviews, and they brought the old writers back.
I guess the reason why it dragged near the end was because it wasn’t as funny as the stuff before it.
Well, everyone does have an opinion about these things. I personally felt that the movie didn’t drag on at the end, but that’s just me.
Absolutely hilarious!I laughed until I couldn’t breathe.
I personally felt that it seemed really short. But I guess we’re used to seeing The Simpsons in half an hour doses, so even though it is actually a short film, it might seem longer than it actually is.
What was your favorite part in this movie?
TSS - Everything, really. I guess that about covers it.
Well, I love the part where [spoil]Bart is skating to the dinner place, naked[/spoil].
I was laughing so hard, I almost busted a gut.
