Now I don’t know about you guys but I think this movie might be a good hit, when the smurfs were in New York City (I think) in this teaser trailer, it really did look real to me.
So what do you think about this movie?
‘The Smurfs’ is out September 2011 (the month of my B’day!

I hope they don’t ruin the Smurfs!! I love watching them on Boomerang at my mamaw’s house

Wow, seriously? I thought The Smurfs had been permenantly abandoned long ago. It was such a strange TV series that I’m surprised they thought it would make a good movie. And the teaser trailer doesn’t fill me with much hope, I have to say.

To this day I still wonder what that bad guy wanted with those blue dudes.

I liked the old cartoons better, but I’ll just wait and see

A cartoon movie that takes place in the real modern world. Real original… :unamused: At least there’s not a road trip too.

I feel like, did the have to make The Smurfs’ in computer anamation?
They could have made it in 2D like The Princess And The Frog and Whine The Pooh (Due for 2011), that’s the only 2D film that disney is puting in production.
So I feel like they should have made it in 2D, there is to many computer animaion films (Not pointing to Pixar), but I just want a 2D film back again.

Oh god… this looks like it’s gonna be CGI/live-action combo like that bliddy Alvin and the Chipmunks movie!

And it’s gonna be so ‘yo-yo-yo-wassup-cool-man’ poser-wannabe as well. I mean, they spoofed Transformers trailer and played Tone Loc’s Wild Thing over the main theme (I know because I watched the American remake of Taxi and it was in the soundtrack). :unamused:

And seriously… “SmurfHappens”?

Haha, NPH and GL are in another movie with blue-skinned (or rather, feathered) creatures! 8D

Oh… why do you keep ravaging my childhood memories, Hollywood… facepalm

This will probably be okay. I’m not super-exicted for it, but I really like The Smurfs!

I’m pretty sure he wanted to eat them…but that’s just what I remember. Look, it’s one of the original “Rat Creatures” of the cartoon world  !

And what can I say about this? “UGH!” That’s what. From the picture in the link, the look more like blue lawn gnomes than Smurfs to me :unamused: . And really. Look what they did to Alvin and the Chipmunks. They’re going to do the same thing to the Smurfs in some way, shape, or form. Sigh No one is safe. Not even Yogi Bear. headdesk

Yea, I heated about yogi bear!. I guess people are looking into classics and making movie about them. What my thinking is, Alvin And The Chipmunks was a big hit, so people are making movies just like Alvin And The Chipmunks like Yogi Bear and Alvin And The Cipmunks 3 In 3D and now ‘The Smurfs’.
One of the movie I am looking foward to is Tin Tin.

“Because then it wouldn’t be a road movie!”

Quoted from The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle.

I just hate the whole idea of this. Most of my complaints have been said before, but I also hate the Smurf designs. They’re way too detailed, they look like demented lawn gnomes. I know it’s in a live action environment, but still. Plus, the eyes are disturbing…I have to say that the far-away shot of them holding onto the taxi looks alright. That’s the only thing I liked in the entire trailer.

Ohmigod…
The trailer’s introduced by DR. HORRIBLE!

The true answer:

He wanted to see how many he could fit up his butt. Duh.

Woah, that’s a scary thought. :open_mouth:

Who’s the guy at the start of the teaser? Just out of interest.

Neil Patrick Harris! Was the older brother on Malcolm in the Middle., currently on How I Met Your Mother. He’s done a lot more than that but those are the two that come to mind.

Oh, and he’s obviously starring in the Smurf movie.

Thanks, Fett. I thought he looked familiar.

Francis, the oldest brother on Malcolm in the Middle, was actually portrayed by Christopher Kennedy Masterson.

Before his resurgence in popularity brought on by his appearance in Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle, Neil Patrick Harris was best known for his titular role as the sneaker-wearing genius teen doctor Doogie Howser.

A quick google search reveals that he also played the titular role in Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Which is probably where I recognised him from.

Wow, I had no idea.

:open_mouth: CLONES!
