Some of these characters don’t look exactly like their film counterparts. The only ones that look spot on are Lotso, Mr Potato Head, and the army men. 
for example on buzz his star command logo is also suppose to say Space Ranger
I found this out on the internet, first comes the comfort of wearing the costume, then comes the details. It also costs a lot of money to make one mascot.

It seems to me like such a missed opportunity where they could’ve used Pixar’s own computer data for the costumes instead of making their own. They would’ve turned out much more accurate that way.
