Exactly why I screencapped the guys post and sent it in. There was no need for it and it clearly was an attack against me, a fellow toy story collector/fan, for no reason other than to “win out”. Like I said, money to me is not a game, and I’m not the only one who thinks that when it comes to purchasing based on “internet word of mouth”.
But consider the fact that there are two versions of these Aliens in circulation. They aren’t marked, nor are they even supposed to be two different versions, but just because the ones you checked aren’t squeezable doesn’t mean that someone else’s aren’t either, as the picture clearly shows that the one he has is squeezable. The same thing happened with the ones in the 3-pack, some people could squeeze theirs and others couldn’t.
In his defense, you said “had a look”, and pretty much left it at that, leaving it up to interpretation as to what you meant. Personally, I think it would have been better if you started out by saying that you opened them up in the store, eliminating any confusion. I don’t want to start an internet fight, but let’s just keep things in perspective here and act like civilized human beings.
Are you basing this on anecdotal evidence, or is there some word from Thinkway about there being two versions?
OH MY GOSH! stop fighting over the darn thing and live with it. Tyler you’ve got talent recast em’ into a squeazable material before this crud gets serious I hate when this stuff happens.

Tyler, you made the statement before I posted pics I was wrong, after I posted pics you inferred I was lying/wrong and since you have noted it would not be the case until you had one in hand. You inferred in your post you looked at the box, and I had to assume most stores do not allow you to open and destroy packaging to find out such. Your previous post on this particular matter have inferred from the start I lied even after I have posted evidence upon request backing up my statements. It seems to me you have noted such bias before and after without the evidence in hand. A double standard of what you can claim as opposed to what I can. Your inference I lied was poor form and your post here continues to show such. As long as you wanted to post on such, expect an answer / post back, I am trying to be a bit more diplomatic in my returning post. Sorry of the teasing on the hypocrisy of the statements has caused a ruckus, just want him to realize what he is saying and doing.
I am not going off of any official word from Thinkway, I am merely summarizing what the people on here that own the Aliens have said in their posts. Some people can obviously squeeze their Aliens, as is shown in photographs. The rest of us weren’t lucky enough to get these ones and are stuck with ones that are super hard plastic that can’t be squeezed.
I wasnt trying to “prove I was right”, I was stating facts for OTHERS LIKE ME. And if you want to call for proof, I went to the Target store on Victory Square in Savannah GA, and I’m sure the same associate will be working from yesterday.
Dont know where your angle is, or what it pertains to, but I’m just helping out others like me, who were curious about the Aliens.
You may squeak yours, yes, I never said that wasnt the case. But the case in that is that it mis-represented the actual product to those wondering if ALL were that pliable, or if it just a climate issue causing the plastic to be softer (or something eles that would temporarily give it a more softness)
Or, heck, maybe we’re all just weaklings, and you can squeeze the heck out of yours, hahah. Otherwise, they’re all the SAME rigid vinyl. (even rigid vinyl has a bit of flex, due to its hollow casting and softer plastic properties)

I’m not really sure what’s the real story at this point. I personally think there may be variations of stiff and soft, but unless we get A) official word from Thinkway or B) someone happens to have both variations, which one is noticeably easier to squeeze, there’s no way to know for now.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a constructive conversation, but I’m not a fan of the name-calling and such. Although, good points are being brought up.
Just noting that the pliable ones are out there, all that I have seen here are flexible to some extent. It is not due to temperature issues or other conditions, as I noted earlier, but due to it being made from a softer material. My original ones are hard as rock, I cannot flex them like I can the Target issue ones.
It could be that I was lucky enough to get a bad or beginning batch of them, or that some may be manufactured to off specification in batches than others. Being one of those that wants a complete collection and who diligently looks for such, its worth noting here so that others might also find them if they are so inclined to do so.
Given they are not part of the certificate collectible pieces, I am more inclined to modify mine with a squeaker on the bottom of these. If I do so, I promise to pm you Tyler first with an avi file of me squeaking it away just to show they are out there and worth getting. ![]()
I just hope you don’t destroy too many packages afterward trying to hunt down one yourself. ![]()
The big point being, don’t dismiss the post, they do exist, the truth is out there.
I didnt destroy anything, the guy used his exacto, and they’re sealed with tape on 3 sides of the box, that slides out, viola squeeze. We checked 5. Like I said, call the store, if not, go get a beer.
And from your last sentiments, I see this is all about “proof” So I’ll save you the trouble and let you know that you can just go ahead and make a thread for it, so its all there for documentation upon further consumer review. Should be pretty hilarious. Its like getting an action figure with a paint flaw, or misprinted card and people assume that rather than factory errors, they are rare and sought out etc, etc.
I’ve seen your pics, I know you can squeeze it. Thats why I said you clearly must be either stronger than the rest of us, as you’re not accepting the factory defect my come into play over its softness.
You’re going on a “one of” deal, comparing it to the tsc first issue aliens. I assume you’re setting there madder, and madder, or something? I’m lost.
Either or, this is getting kind of pathetic, so I’ll stick to other threads to avoid leeches using the internet for weirdness rather than a learning tool.

Uhhh… ok there Tyler. Look at those emotion cons in my post, no madness here.
I will let that interchange speak for itself in regards to the subject and ourselves.
OK, thanks for the info. That’s kind of what I was thinking, too. I don’t think there are actually two different materials in use, though, but that there seems to be some kind of variance in the production process that makes some more pliable than others. Different batches of materials, maybe some are slightly thinner than others, who knows?
Clearly some managed to find softer ones, while some of us didn’t. No biggie.
I Have the spanish version of TSC Aliens and there are squeezeble. But just the body not the head… and also I´m not stronger than any of you.
It´s obvious that there are some diferent versions like in every toy´s collections. That´s not a big deal!
Tomorow I´ll take some picks…
Again that is not was is at issue, I was coming from the consumer stand point of the idea that maybe the aliens had a running material change, etc, but it seems to be just a factory flaw, climate, etc. I was merely talking about the variant, but there doesnt seem to be an actual variant moreso than factory flaws, etc.
Word spreads fast on the internet, and it could/may still cause, people to get something they’re not expecting due to false reports.
So with that said, I’m not right either. I’ll call thinkway and get an official statement until then.
And to make my point again…
"Word spreads fast on the internet, and it could/may still cause, people to get something they’re not expecting due to false reports. "
Its not a false report.
Just remember, all we have are theories at this point. I wouldn’t consider the lighter aliens to be a flaw, because that would mean it was unintentional, which seems unlikely. I think maybe they changed it over down to road to save on costs.
Back on topic, apparently TSC Jessie is already shipping from Disney. In hand pics here.

I am so jealous. Toys R Us better get them soon.
Guys, let’s try to keep the language civil here, shall we? Thanks!
Jessie is available on disney store website but not anywhere else. her total price with shipping is $68.45 or something like that. I hope that helps
