Thinkway's Toy Story Collection

Well, we already have a perfect Hamm and a near perfect Slinky, so whats the need?

Finnally modded my woody’s mouth although it’s a older woody doll I did what one eyed bart said. Glue woodys mouth shut and he was right it dosen’t look right cause it make him (Woody)Look like his teeth are being shown a lot more but thanks for the tips
Heres a list of closed mouth woodys although some are not to scale

Burger king 6 inch plush woody
disney store plush woody
Space man? woody
Lego minifig Woody
And some cheap plush woody i have seen

Current slink is garbage. Even Hamm could be better if they gave him his forward facing head. But I don’t see the point in bugging Thinkway about either. They’ll announce wave 3 details when their ready.

Alrighty, so I opened up my Buzz to first remove his wings, but after deciding that couldn’t be done I decided to remove his helmet.

Now for my 2 questions:

  1. Since the only way to remove the wings is cutting them, will putting batteries in after be dangerous and I shouldn’t do it?

  2. When I get my new Buzz soon, I’m debating whether to remove it or not. I like no helmet Buzz Better, but I’m scared of opening up a Buzz hand picked by Thinkway.

SRS

Nice work on Buz… it is just weird for me to see him all mutilated though.

While you were in there, were you able to tell what it is that limits his arm articulation? With some toys it can be as simple as cutting some plastic off to get more artulation, Im wondering if the same could eb done for buzz. even though he still wouldnt be able to put his arms all the way down, it’d be nice if they could go down enough to touch the black things.

From the look in the pics, if one were to cut off where the black bit stick out of the torso it would add a bit of range to the joints. Not enough to go streight down, like you said, but closer. Unless the joint piece connects to the grey ball of his shoulder in a way that restrains how far his arms can move, cutting off/trimming the black would extend his range.

But like I mentioned, his arm doesnt even touch the black things on the outside (I mean, they do when his arms are raised up, but not downward), I don’t see how they would be problem. and cutting those would make it innacurate, so it would be a pointless mod. the idea is to make the change from the inside, but leave the outside the same. the black parts are essential in keeping the character on model, so unless you had a way of replacing them with something else it doesnt make sense to remove those.

Just my Potato Head off Amazon this morning. Have to say I am surprised to see the box in mint condition. As far as Mr Potato Head goes- Amazing! I just wish with these toys that Thinkway would list the phrases and how to get different phrases and what to say in interactive mode.

One thing that would’ve been nifty with MPH is when you put in his angry eyes he says “Prepare to meet Mr Angry Eyes”

Considering they did 2 versions of Buzz, do you think theres a possibility of a re-release. Possibly Rex, Potato Head or the Aliens??

You do realise the toys have no clue what your saying, right? theres no voice recongnition or anything of the sort. the mic just picks up sound in general. it only knows how loud the sounds are, nothing more.

I thought they responded to some things. I mean the box for Potato Head shows (a humans voice in blue) saying things like ‘Hey there’ and ‘You’re my favorite toy’ and potato head responds.

I have to admit what people say it does seem as if they’re alive, have had some frequent funny responses to what people have said to it lol

Buzz’s arm actually is inserted into a slot to fit inside between his body and back. There wouldn’t be any way to make his articulation better.

See that white thing with the sticks sticking out at the end of Buzz’s arms? Does go inside little lots. The way the arm is connected to the white thing makes it so you can only make the arms go slightly up and down…like how it is regularly.

Also, could somebody answer my two questions?

Well, I had had this exact same thought process when they first came out, and I had asked Thinkway about it, but they said they had no intentions of releasing alternate versions of the Aliens or Rex. This was last year, so that could’ve changed but I doubt it. I assume you mean changes involving making the toys more accurate, i.e. Rex’s jaw articulation, Aliens’ squeakers, Potato Head’s storage compartment. The first two likely won’t happen, as Thinkway stated in the email that Rex’s jaw being static was a safety based decision, while the Aliens’ lacking a squeaker was due to age grading, which would have resulted in them being in the infant toy aisle, at least from what I’ve heard. As far as Potato Head, your best bet would be to wait til October and see what Hasbro comes out with, as they have stated before that they are releasing movie accurate Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head toys, $10 each, which would be great if it turns out to be true. With this there would be no electronics, which would open up the back for the storage compartment, making them more accurate.

cool. I didn’t know Hasbro were going to do film-esque Potato Heads. I know how much people don’t like Potato Head because of the electronics, but I like it. I don’t like how there is no back compartment, but I agree with electronics he lacks more features (features i mean sayings when changing eyes to angry)
I did ask about the Aliens and they just said thanks for the interest, because I agree that they must squeek, but even with the press of a hand they also need to go Ooooooooo (in my opinion)
As for Rex I just wish he was sold in more shops. I’ve seen video reviews and he looks amazing, I’m not to fussed about the jaw articulation, although it would’ve added a nice touch

Wonder if we’ll hear any news on wave 3 characters by the christmas holidays or very early next year. Really hyped up for more, I’m impressed with whats out at the moment

As far as Rex being more widely available, your best bet would probably also be Octoberish as a lot of companies ship extra orders to stores for holiday sales and what not. My estimation is that the soonest we’ll hear about who’s in wave 3 will be Toy Fair next February, as that was where they debuted wave 2, but that’s not to say some website won’t leak early promotional images of them before that.

Sorry but my question was unanswered and pushed back into the last page, so I am reposting it.:

Uh, why do you want to take Buzz’s wings off?

Because Im getting a new Buzz from Thinkway and they are asking me to send them my current Buzz’s wings and the reciept

If their sending you a replacement buzz, why then does it matter what happens to your current buzz? Why not just snip it and be done with it?

Because I want to make sure that having those cut wires wont be dangerous or anything. (I still want to keep this Buzz since I took the helmet off)

Also, do you think I should remove the helmet off the new Buzz I’m getting?
