Pretty much. The fake one is a little darker though.
It’s a shame they didn’t use the same materials from the earlier releases.
I just got the Toy Story Signature Collection Jessie today and I picked the best looking one in the store based on the face… But as I opened it and tried to stand her, I notice something a bit weird…
It looks to me like her left arm (on the right) is attached completely wrong, as if part of her arm is sewn on to her side.
This is a problem as I wanted to use a different stand under her arms like I have on Woody, but obviously I can’t as her arms are essentially different heights.
Very tempted to see if I can return it and get another, any thoughts?
^ Welcome to the forums! I hate to say it, but I would recommend addressing the issue to Thinkway and think of returning the figure. It seems like a factory error.
With regards to the denim on the TSC Woody, I can confirm that the Signature Collection variants do utilize “fake denim”. Maybe they needed to cut production costs. It sucks but there isn’t much we can do.
Yeah, that error wouldn’t fly with me, I’d return that one way or another for sure.
So the signature collection doesn’t have real denim? I kinda assumed the TSC version was fake too. I thought real denim would be too thick to use on toys.
well, maybe your issue is just a lil quirk, i dont mind with mine, (TSaB, by hasbro. not the same, but i love her.) it adds a lil personality.
You know what you really need? The Troikas. And the Little Tikes Fire Truck from Toy Story.
I have enjoyed with your posts. Thanks for sharing the great collection.
Just checked the Thinkway Toy’s site, and our worst fear has come true…Their only doing re-releases for the 20th anniversary.
Though I kinda suspected as much from them, what do you guys think?
It seems (based off) Thinkway’s website that the only boxes getting the 20th anniversary logo will be the normal Buzz and Woody that go for $30 at like Toys R Us. Watch Thinkway release Signature Collections boxes with the 20th anniversary logo :/… And it sucks cuz I have recently gotten them.
Can’t say I’m surprised really. With Thinkway’s recent track record for items, this shouldn’t be that big of a surprise.
For other replicas, we might have to count on DCP or another manufacturer to pick up the license.
lol called it. not getting nothing.
thanks obama!
Excuse my ignorance, but what’s DCP?
Disney consumer products
Thank you for that, I feel pretty stupid for not realizing that
I need some guidance guys and gals. I am currently on the search for the perfect Rex for my collection. I cant decide whether to spend the EXTRA (and I mean EXTRA) money on a TSC Rex or whether buying the simple non-talking Rex from Thinkway or getting the Disney Store one. If anyone has pics comparing the three of them or one they own compared to a TSC Buzz or Woody I would really really appreciate it.
TSC Rex is rare and usually expensive nowadays. Don’t do what I did and buy the $30 one at ToysRus, the TSC is far bigger and more accurate:
Thanks SpaceSheriff, I am soooooo glad I didn’t get the $30 one. That is a huge difference. Thanks for the pic comparisons. I am hoping retailers will order some Toy Story Collection figures for their shelves in honor of the 20th anniversary but if they don’t I guess I better start saving and hopefully find a Toy Story Collection Rex
Hey guys, this thread needs a bit of a revival plus I have a couple of questions…
Firstly, has anyone noticed that the Signature Collection Woody is a bit shorter than the other Woody’s previously? I think it’s because of the legs, I’ll try to upload a picture later so you can see.
Secondly, I’m thinking about picking up a Rex and I’m torn between two choices, whether to get the Disney store one, or the Collection one, if you guys have any of them can you tell me the pros and cons so I can decide. Thank you.
hey Johnathon
I had recently asked about Rex too and i think SpaceSheriff’s answer is thebest. Although hard to find a TSC Rex will be the most accurate. For me Rex’s height is important. The TSC is 18 inches tall and the toys r us and disney store one is 12 inches tall. i suggest you read this article by Dan the Pixar Fan: danthepixarfan.com/2015/05/t … eluxe.html
here he describes the difference between the Disney Parks Rex which is the same one from the Disney Store. I like how he talks about how the Disney Store Rex looks like Rex because of the color scheme used and how he looks like he is made of cheap plastic they way he looks in the movie. But he is still 12 inches tall. In the end the Rex you feel fits in the best with your collection is the one you should get.
if your in the US ill send you a PM if i see any listings for a TSC REX:
Hope this helps!!
