Timeline

If Andy is going to college now (in 2010), let’s assume he is 18 now. He would have to have been 3 in 1995 when the first Toy Story came out, and he looked around 6 or 7. Has anyone ever thought about this?

He was 6 in Toy Story and 8 in Toy Story 2.

I think TS is supposed to be only 2 years from toy story 2, but TS3 is definetly set 10 years from 2, according to Lee Unkrich’s intro in the clip.

toy story 2 is in 1999. sory about that I meant number 2.

no it’s in real time because Andy’s mom’s license plate sticker in Toy Story says '95 and her one in Toy Story 3 is '10. He had to be 6 in Toy Story and 8 in Toy Story 2. . .ten years later he’s 18 it makes perfect sense

Ive always thought the time thing was off. I mean, to me Andy seems like hes 8 ish in toy story, and 12 in TS2.

If he was 6 in 1 and 8 in TS2, then it’s not realitime, since 1 came in 1995, and 2 in 1999. But it is in realtime from TS2 to TS3 if he’s 8 in TS2 and 10 in TS3.

I am going to be 18 in June, when I graduate High School and go to College. I was born in 1992, and in 1995 I was 3. How does it make perfect sense for Andy to be 6 in Toy Story if it is in real time? And the time between TS2 and TS3 is 11 years.

No it’s 10 years. Andy was 8 in Toy Story 2 and now he’s 18.

toy story 2 took place in 1999 its on al’s and andy’s calender.

It’s not a real timeline. That’s what you people aren’t understanding.

Agreed - the length of time it takes for Pixar to churn out a Toy Story movie doesn’t correlate to the amount of time passed in the actual film.
