Tom Hanks and Tim Allen to star in a Disney film

It’s the planned Jungle Cruise film 1 the second of two upcoming Disney films to be based off a ride attraction (first being Del Toro’s Haunted Mansion). The script’s currently being written by Robert Schulman (Shrek) and Todd Lieberman (The Fighter) will produce and Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will reportedly play explorers trying to find a cure to a disease.

Personally I think this is an awesome idea. The Jungle Cruise has always been a fan favorite ride of many Pixarians, especially John Lasseter, and the fact that Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will finally be able to work together on a live action film (not recording their lines separately) is extremely promising.

Woah, seriously?!?!?! :open_mouth: :astonished:

You had me at Tom. I’m seeing this!

The “ride-movie” genre sounds hit-or-miss depending on story quality…and if the story is good, why bother with the ride tie-in? Like anything else, it could be worthwhile if done well.

A third movie based off a ride? Interesting. It will be neat to see the two work together! In live action.
