Top 100 Animations

I’ve just been watching a programme entitled ‘Top 100 Animations’, which is basically including

all kinds of animations, from films and TV shows. Of course, Pixar featured several times. Here are the top 30

animations (the whole 100 isn’t needed, as all the Pixar films included are in the top 30)-

30- Daffy

Duck
29- Dungeons And Dragons
28- Spongebob Squarepants
27- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
26-

Futurama
25- Pinocchio
24- Danger Mouse
23- Popeye
22- Monsters,

Inc.
21- Princess Mononoke
20- Looney Tunes
19- Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
18- Ren And

Stimpy
17- Aladdin
16- Akira
15- Aardman Productions
14- Finding

Nemo
13- The Nightmare Before Christmas
12- Iron Giant
11- The Flintstones
10- Bugs

Bunny
9- The Incredibles
8- Spirited Away
7- The Lion King
6-

Shrek
5- Family Guy
4- Toy Story/Toy Story 2
3- South Park
2- Tom And

Jerry
1- The Simpsons

So, technically, all but two of Pixar’s films were featured, and since Cars

wasn’t out at the time of this survey, then really it’s only one that hasn’t been. Pretty good results, huh?

Especially with Toy Story/Toy Story 2 beating Shrek by two places.

Go Pixar!

I’d have though Aardman, esteemed creators of Wallace

& Gromit, would have ended up higher, but I digress.

Not a bad haul, 5/6. I’m annoyed the Simpsons

are top dog, though. They always are in those Channel 4 Top 100 things. They had a top 100 TV Characters thing,

and Homer Simpson beat Edmund Blackadder! There’s no justice in this world. :frowning:

Yeah, The Simpsons is good, but not THAT good! I guess it

was to be expected, though.

And it was great seeing the bit with the CEO of Dreamworks talking about

Finding Nemo. "It set a high benchmark for us, and it’s a very good film…But we will beat it! We

will!"

And there were lots of parts with people from Pixar-
Ratzenburger
Lee

Unrich
Andrew Stanton
Brad Bird

I think that’s everyone who was interviewed…

Oh c’mon. South Park beat Toy Story and Toy Story 2? I

love South Park, but…c’mon!

At least The Incredibles made the top 10, and The Iron Giant isn’t too far

behind.

~~=oP

I remember it was last year sometime that IGN had their top 25 animated films and Iron Giant came in at

No 1 with Pixar movies all not too far behind.

I sorta agree

with that list. I think the Incredibles should be number one, then again, I am a little biased.

Ugh, what a terrible list. The Simpsons has good humour,

but in terms of ANIMATION, it should be on the bottom of the list… that includes South Park and Family

Guy.

But it’s nice that they’ve got the classics up there, like Popeye, Bugs Bunny and Tom and

Jerry.

Yeah, I’ve seen that show, it’s just basically a repeat from last yr (that

explains why I didn’t watch it)

I think they were judging on the shows generally, rather than just

on the animation, even though the name of the show suggests otherwise.

I agree that it’s good they

included the classics- those old TV shows seem to be forgotten a lot nowadays.

Those lists are voted on by the public, enough said

True. It’s kinda like those ‘best romantic films’ and you got The Notebook and

Moulin Rouge way up there… so I presume. Not that I’m saying they’re bad movies (I love Moulin Rouge), but

there are a lot of better ones.

Yeah, especially when you think of just how many

romantic films have been made.
