What do you guys think about Pixar/Brad Bird making 1906?
The interview leaves much to be desired, but Brad Bird is
directing and that’s good enough for me! ![]()
~~=oP
Are they still doing this as a live-action film? Now, I know TSS
and Dash are incredibly excited for this, but let me say one thing:
It
called Pixar Animation Studios for a reason.
I really don’t care
what it is as long as it has a firm, basic plot and the film itself is intriguing. Needless to say, I’m sure it
will be, especially seeing as Brad Bird, the master behind the masterpieces, is directing the thing.
Go
Brad (and the rest of the Pixar team)! ![]()
I know I know
Bill. But Pixar doing a live-action film could be something that Pixar needs. Like you said, I am really excited
for this movie to come out. And my favorite Pixar director is directing it too. This makes it even better.
Yeah, I know TSS . And
I’m sure Brad is going to do a great job with this, but frankly, I will need a bit more convincing before I’m
okay with this. But that’s just me.
I’m
excited about Brad Bird doing a live-action film because he has wanted to do one for a while, and he is
passionate about it, but I still stand by my opinion that Pixar should have a separate division for live-action
films, and animation.
I’m not doubting the excellence of the film, though…
But
it could also ruin their sucsess .
I agree with Bill , Pixar should only make animated films . Remember
when Disney started doing live action in the '60s , yeah , half of those , I don’t even know …
I also noticed something. Since Brad Bird is going to direct this film, doesn’t it
make the probable Incredibles sequel get pushed back even farther?
Not necessarily - I suspect Brad would likely drop all
for an Incredibles sequel if the inspiration ever came to him for one. Plus since we’d only be looking at about
a year of production time max for this movie I doubt it’s a very huge blip in his plans.
And
live-action films take considerably less time than animated ones (well, Pixar ones anyway
). And there is also
the possibility that Bird could do 1906 and the sequel simultaneously, but I wouldn’t want him to be spread too
thin across two projects.
But he has been waiting a while to do a live-action film, and if that’s what he
wants to do at the moment, The Incredibles sequel can wait, IMO.
I wounder who Brad will
get to be in the movie! ![]()
JV - Us! (snigger) ![]()
Let’s just let Pixar go on to new
hights, no matter how bizarre it may seem. If they can make sewer rats endearing they can do this thing for
sure.
Dash: I
guess you are right. But every time he does a new movie, I get so upset for a while because that means I would
have to wait for a little while longer.
That’d be cool if Brad Bird would invite some of you American fans (or international fans and
then fly us over cough), to be background extras in 1906.
But that’s just in my dreams.
It looks like 1906 is going to be a Pixar film after all. Just click the link here and scroll down t o the bottom of the page.
Wow, I guess it’s gonna happen after all…Very interesting. Thanks, JV!
I’m still not sure about Pixar doing live-action. Sorry guys, but I just have a bad feeling about this. In my eyes, this could ruin the studio’s reputation. But of course, I could be wrong as well.
Bill: Well, we’re never gonna know until it happens.
JV: Thanks dude!
Well, they are Pixar Animation Studios.
