Hello all! It’s Emergencyexit42, haven’t posted in these boards in AGES but after seeing what I had just saw, I just HAD to come back and post about it. I know there are SOO many Toy Story 3 threads in this forums right now, and I’ll be right up front with you all. I am not at all surprised!
I just HAPPENED to be searching YouTube for the Toy Story treats earlier this afternoon but unfortunately I didn’t find them. But what else did I find!?!?!?!?!? The OFFICIAL Toy Story 3 trailer! When I first saw it though, I thought, “Oh wow! Another of those bullcrap fanmade TS3 trailers,” but that was until I saw the screenshot at the side and the description and knew this would no way be in a fan-made trailer.
I LOVED the new Toy Story animation! Thank you Pixar so very much for a new Toy Story animation! Being that I’m a big fan of Andy’s bedroom set in Toy Story 1 as apposed to the Toy Story 2 set, I liked their choice of background, and how the characters interacted… It’s awesome! It’s WAY better than the Wall*E halftime football game trailer!
Isn’t strange in an amazing way how Toy Story first came out back in '95 and became Pixar’s #1 movie ever since! I mean- they tried to make other movies but they will NEVER be at the Toy Story franchise’s level! Then if I remember correctly, Toy Story 2 came out three years later in '98, and now Toy Story 3 in 2010! This is amazing how they make us wait SOOO long for new installments! I mean- fans get impatient here and there but think about it guys! They’re not trying to be… y’know they want us to look back and they want the new installments to bring back so many memories! I think I will be in my 50’s and still be a fan of this amazing series! I’m 18 now BTW. But things like this is why and always will be one of the main reasons why I love Toy Story with a passion!
I’m going to the premiere! I’m going to be in line SUPER EARLY! That’s so I can be the first in line for the premiere ticket, and when that clock hits midnight, I will BE THERE! Watching Toy Story 3…
If only the Toy Story threequel saw Buzz getting malfunctioned and sent to Taiwan, I’d be a lot, like 20X more excited about the movie! But who knows! Maybe this plot will be WAY better than I would have thought! I can’t just judge a book by the cover now!
In anticipation for the new movie, I will finish my 53 Toy Story treats and post them.
NONE of you know not how much more excited this mtrailer got me for the threequel, and it Disney goes on and decides to make a fourquel (Toy Story 4) I will be there too, which since so many fans are anticipating TS3 and God knows how many people will like it, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Pixar goes on to a fourth installment.
I’m excited for TS3 and am a big fan of TS and TS2.
I was expecting that Buzz would be recalled, but I see the whole day care thing more open to more ideas. Think about it, if Buzz went a away, wouldn’t it be like TS 1 & 2 where the journey is just to return back to Andy? I am interested on how this turns out.
Agreed, 100%. I too was excited about “Toy Story 3” even way back when rumors were circulating about the Buzz-recall storyline. But this, this is something else entirely. It is the perfect natural progression of the story, building on the “Toy Story 2” theme of “nothing lasts forever”. Back then, Woody was faced with the realization that someday Andy will outgrow him. But when faced with a choice between an uncertain future beyond Andy and an eternity of being admired behind glass, he ultimately decided he “wouldn’t miss [Andy growing up] for the world.” That he would enjoy his time with him while he could, and only worry about his post-Andy life when he had to.
I can’t wait to see them (or at least I really hope they) revisit this idea, now that Andy really has grown up, and Woody was there to see it all unfold like he had once wanted to. It will be interesting to see if he brings up the earlier choice he had to make, perhaps with regret.
I just think this storyline they’ve landed on is gold. It feels so appropriate - it just feels right. Can’t wait to see it unfold.
Having said that, I have no idea what to think about the rumored (warning: potential spoiler) [spoil]long-lost brother storyline with Hamm, Rex and Mr. Potato Head[/spoil]. I’m a bit skeptical about it, mostly because I’m not sure what it means. And it feels like it could turn into a rehash of the [spoil]‘Deluded Buzz’[/spoil] stuff from “Toy Story 2”.
But the vision in my head of what such a storyline would look like isn’t anywhere near as genius as what the guys at Pixar could potentially cook up. So I’ll try to keep that in mind and just have faith. And also satisfy the possibility that this rumored plotline is nothing but bull, anyhow.
It’s nice to see you back on the forums, emergencyexit42, and clearly excited about the prospect of a Toy Story 3! I, too, am very excited though I will admit to at the same time feeling a teeny weeny bit apprehensive. Only because when its two predecessors are so good, it means that the third film really does have to be something special to maintain such high standards. After all, as you said, Toy Story is the epitome of Pixar animation and it’s a classic that’s stayed in everyone’s hearts for so long that even a very, very good film that just falls short of being great would be a shame.
I’m a bit fifty-fifty on the storyline that the film is based on, though we only know some very basic facts and the whole ‘feel’ of the film has not been introduced yet. I haven’t seen the official trailer yet either (hoping to watch it on TV the first time I see it so I can bask in all its glory) so it’s still difficult to even comprehend the existence of a Toy Story 3 at the moment, but I’m sure it’ll all seem much more real closer to the time.
My biggest concern for this latest instalment is getting the balance of both referring to stuff that’s happened in the previous films and maintaining the feel and themes that have gone before, together with introducing new situations and characters that also feel ‘right’. This is probably one of the biggest challenges when creating a sequel, and I’m sure Pixar have got it just right, but only time will tell.
People are slowly getting ready for Toy Story/Toy Story 2 3D Double Feature and Toy Story 3. At my local Target I saw Toy Story fruit snakes, and they started to put out Army Men in the Toys section, I haven’t seen that place sell Army Men since 2003! And at a Disney Store I was at, they had a whole section for Toy Story toys, and on the big screens they have at Disney stores, they were playing the Toy Story 3 teaser. Some people stopped what they were doing and watched, even me. I can’t wait for Toy Story 3!
