Toy Story 3 Benefit Premier in Bay Area!

Pixar has hosted Premier Benefits in Emeryville for at least the last 5 years.

This year there will indeed be a Benefit Premier for Toy Story 3 on May 27th, 2010!

For those of you in the area (or crazy enough to fly out to California), keep your calendars open, I’ll update this post as more information comes.

UPDATE #1:

I attended this particular premiere last year, and it was $250. hopefully that will be the price for this year.

This Premiere is a benefit event in coordination with the local non-profit, Emery Ed Fund. Pixar in Emeryville, is directly supportive to the community and schools. I’ve checked their website, but no details have been posted yet. www.emeryed.org.

I would guess that this premiere would mimic their previous yearly premieres and should have food and wine reception and silent auctions (for signed pixar items).

I know that all funds generated from ticket sales and silent auctions go towards the Emery Ed Fund, who directly raise money for the Emeryville Unified School District.

Wow, that’s awesome! I live in the Bay Area and would love to be able to go there.

If I lived anywhere near that area and had enough money to buy a ticket, I’d go. Thanks for the information t14revolution, it’d be awesome if someone from these boards actually went.

Where did you hear this?

P.S. this post makes me an “ant”!

Wasnt sure if this deserved its own thread, but George at LatinoReview has seen Toy Story 3, I think at the same screening mentioned in this topic.
He’s not allowed to review it, but he gives his impressions.
No spoilers that I can tell, but I’ll just link it to be safe.

Bottom line, he loves it.

Edit: more impressions pouring in.

if i’m crazy enough to fly to California for concerts, i might be crazy enough to fly out to this… unless i can’t afford tickets which i probably wouldn’t be able to anyway. but it could be a birthday present for me… a few days late, but still! haha. oh well, i’m still in school that week, so i couldn’t go even if i tried.

Why can’t I live in California? Darn it. If I lived around that area then I would go in a heart beat, but since I’m literally on the other side of the country, that’s not happening.

If only I had the money then I would go down there and visit for a while before seeing the movie, but that ain’t happening either. :frowning:

Well, according to http://www.jdrftalk.org/toy-story-3-preview/ tickets are one thousand dollars apiece.

*Whoop- That just erased any previous ideas I had of possibly attending.

Putting aside all the events and what not that they are doing…

$1,000 a piece?! D:

They must be out of their minds if they think I’m paying that much, it’ll probably cost me that much just getting there, the hotel, food and getting back home. If not more. . _.

I know I’m obviously not going, but if I had any plans for it then I’d just stick to my original plan and see it on the weekend of the 18th for the low low price of $6.75-$9.00 per ticket, depending on what time I go.
