I think if I were to do a special case it would be shaped like Andy’s toy box, or perhaps his door, not Buzz.

I totally agree. I’d actually be tempted to get the case of Andy’s Toy Box. That would be a lot cooler to me than Buzz as a case, and Buzz is already the most marketed character out of the franchise by far. It’s still a neat concept, but like Kyle said, there is already many, many other Buzz’s to choose from that are much better. But if they made the Toy Box it wouldn’t appeal to the GP, not as much as getting a free Buzz.

10 discs is ridiculous.
Why can’t they have on Box set be 3 DVDS Plus a Bonus Feature DVD
and then do another one that is 3 Blu Rays plus a Bonus Blu Ray?
Instead of doing it all in one box, it’s rip off!

Yeah, you can say what you want, but having DVD and BR is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. If you’re going to convert, do it!!! Not half way.

I actually love the idea of these Blu-Ray/DVD combo packs.

I don’t have a Blu-Ray player yet, so I am able to use the DVD versions now and on my computer in my disk drive. I’m 99% sure we will eventually own a Blu-Ray player so it makes purchasing a whole lot easier.

I no longer buy dvd only releases. but I do like it when dvd versions are included. Just because I have a blu ray player doesn’t mean I can afford to get one for my room, both of my pcs etc.

Combo packs are good both for people like me who want the blu ray, but still want to be able to play the movie on other devices, and two, for people who are still too suborn to convert.

I like having a DVD copy to watch in my room. I do think digital copies are a little frivolous, though. I never use them.

That I get, because those BluRay players 'aint cheap. But do they still charge you an extra “Downloading Fee” for the digital copy? Last time I had an experience they wanted an extra 6 bucks for a code to let you download the DC off of the disc.

If there is no actual disc in your case that says “Digital Copy”, then yes. You can register the movie in Disney Movie Rewards for a discount on the price of the Digital Copy alone.

However, if there is a disc that says “Digital Copy”, you can put it in your computer and download it for no additional fee. It SHOULD be know additional fee either way, though…

And personally, I think that the BD + DVD + Digital Copy Combo Packs are a fantastic idea. I have one Blu-Ray player in my house, which is in my basement. I’ll watch the Blu-ray version of the movie there. If I want to watch the movie in my room, car, friend’s house, etc, I’ll use the DVD version of the movie. And if I want to watch the movie on my iPod or PC, I’ll use the Digital Copy.

Heck yes. The box set had better have classy packaging; that’s all I ask now.

Yeah, that makes sense, I dont’ have a problem with that. The Combo pack works perfectly for 1 movie

I’m just talking about the Trilogy Combo Pack with is 10 discs because they insist on have a DVD/BluRay/Digital copy for each movie, and the bonus disc. I want a Toy Story 1/2/3/ combo pack that is either blu ray or DVD, not both! Too expensive

I really don’t think the digital copies add much of anything to the final cost. their just CDs. no different then the AOL coasters sent out in the 90s. their dirt cheap to produce. I don’t see why they couldn’t fit more than one movie on a disk though…

Im not sure about the dvds, but I believe those are pretty cheap as well. remember it the discs themselves arent what we’re paying for. with combo paks they don’t need to inflate the prices if they don’t want to. and I think in the interest of selling more they arent going to raise the price. I believe a trilogy set would be just as expensive without them. or if it wouldn’t, they might consider a second blu ray only box set. Its all about tending to people’s needs in a period of format transition different people are going to want different formats. combo packs do have their appeal for many until the dvd player is completely obsolete to the point that hardly anyone makes them anymore and most people have multple BD players for all their rooms and pcs.

The only Blu-ray player I have is my Playstation 3, but I don’t think I’m ready to upgrade to Blu-ray yet, especially since I own every Pixar film on DVD.

Also, while looking for Toy Story 3 on Amazon UK, I spotted what looks to be cover art for the Region 2 version:

amazon.co.uk/Toy-Story-3-DVD/dp/B002SNBIFS

Your thoughts on this one?

Too bad there’s no short on the DVD.

This looks more like a placeholder than the final cover art.

Yeah, I get what you mean. They may or may not be the final cover for the Regoin 2 version. Just have to wait and see…

Hey guys, on Pixar Wiki they listed a new short film called ‘Lotso’s Evil Nasty Rules’.

If this is true it sounds like it could revolve around Lotso and his gang, which I would love. My biggest complaint about TS3 is the lack of screentime Twitch, Chunk and Sparks got.

That’s why I hate when they randomly place those characters on promotional things and merchandise, like Stretch on the blu ray cover and nobody else…

I would love that too, it sounds like a great idea for a short.

But Pixar Wiki has been wrong many, many times in the past. So I’m going to pass this off as a rumor unless Pixar/Disney confirms it.
