Toy Story 3 DVD/Blu-Ray

I’m hoping 7.1 surround will be included on all blu ray releases? I’d be mad if it was only one version and everything else had 5.1

Seems like Amazon UK have changed the box art image to a screenshot from the teaser trailer. I’ll put an image of the Region 2 box art here:

Even though I live in the US, I’m hoping that’s not going to be the box art for ANY region. Woody was definently the main character of the movie and having Buzz front and center doesn’t make any sense.

Also, since I didn’t pick up the first two on Blu-ray I might go for the trilogy pack, but that depends on how much I’m willing to spend once November 2nd comes around.

There was a rare Japan variation that had Woody in front. It would be cool to see that one for the DVD release, just like how the Toy Story VHS artwork was slightly different from the theatrical poster.

I remember always being confused by that.

I totally agree with this statement.

Yeah, ditto on that, FlyingGiraffe. Though I like the idea of the cover art being the toys running forwards, as it hints towards the action and adventure they experience in Toy Story 3, for Buzz to be so prominent is weird and plain incorrect.

Okay, I’ve got more news. There will be the single disc DVD, the 3-disc Blu-ray combo (2 disc Blu-ray+DVD) and a 3-disc DVD box set, no Blu-ray box set. No news about cover art yet.

Buzz is almost always in front of Woody in posters…I don’t think it really matters the way it is

Why a DVD boxset and no Blu-ray boxset? :frowning:

YESH!!! ^^ i cant wait and i swear if i dont get a digital copy imma Kill someone!!! I also cant wait for the new Beauty and the Beast so i can get the digital copy of that ^^

I totally agree khstar; there had better be a digital copy! The Blu-ray releases of Toy Story and Toy Story were a bit lacking in that factor, which really surprised me considering I got a digital copy with the Blu-rays of Wall-E, A Bug’s Life, Up, and Monsters, Inc.

What’s the deal Pixar? 8D

I hope that isn’t the UK boxart. It’s a pretty cool cover (although I agree that Buzz probably shouldn’t be the focus), but I kind of prefer some of the other promo images, like the “Breakout comedy” one with them all coming out of the box. I think I just like the warmer colours of it.

I think that’s why I like the box one better too. The dark blues in this aren’t my thing… but this was a darker movie, so I guess the art reflects that? Or I’m crazy  And I agree, as much as I love Buzz, he shouldn’t be the focus. At least share the spot between Woody and Buzz.

I don’t know. But who knows, maybe there will be one, it just hasn’t been announced yet.

I have decided to buy this on BluRey, along with a BluRey player. Thank you Virginia and others for this idea!

TSFan do you have a high definition TV? The full Blu-ray experience can not be reached unless it is in HD. Trust me when I say, the picture is simply mind blowing. It is the best cinematic viewing you can have at home!

Most definitely worth the investment.

No, sadly I have an old Panasonic television I got back in 1982. Will that cut it?

The quality won’t be as good as it could be, but it should still leave VHS in the dust. However, I am not sure if Blu-ray even plays on older TVs. You may want to check that out before making purchase.

Or you could just buy a new TV as well!

Goodness! I have a feeling I’ll be spending a lot of money to see those loveable toys in their new movie! Oh well, I need to get a new television anyway, this one’s channel dial is jammed so it only shows the Off Track Betting channel, and I’m not one for horse racing anyway.
