Toy Story 3 Release Dates

I’ve just been checking the release dates for Toy Story 3…it seems that for countries outside the US, they are rather inconsistent.

Wikipedia:

US & Canada: 18 June 2010
UK: 24 June 2010
Australia: July 23 2010

IMDb:

US: 18 June 2010
Australia: 24 June 2010
UK: 23 July 2010
(no info about Canadian release date, presumably it’s the same as the US date)

Pixar Wiki:

US: 18 June 2010
UK: 17 July 2010
Canada: 15 August 2010
Australia: 9 September 2010

Does anyone know if any of these dates have actually been confirmed (apart from the US date)? At this point, I’m more inclined to believe IMDb, but you never know.

As far as I’m aware, only the US release date has been confirmed, and I’m generally inclined to believe whatever the latest date is for the UK. And then add a couple of months to it. :laughing:

I was surprised to see on IMDb that the US is apparently not the first country that’s going to get Toy Story 3, with Egypt and one or two other countries getting it a couple of days before. I haven’t heard of this ever happening with other Pixar films (though correct me if I’m wrong).

lizardgirl: In Russia, Up opened May 28th, a day before the US release. That’s about all I can remember.

Canada is the same as the us release because on Cineplex (Canadian movie site) they had the release of Toy Story 3 Release Date: 6/18/2010.

domestic (canada and us) are usually first and then international.

Just wanted to let fellow UK-ers know that the Toy Story 3 release date has been bumped forward ever so slightly, with the release now pegged for the 21st of July.

thedriveintheatre- Wikipedia doesn’t even have Toy Story 3 release dates anymore, so it seems like the Wikipedia release dates aren’t accurate. With this sort of thing, IMDb usually has it right anyway.

You’re welcome, Ashley and Ami. And Ami, I always find that I have the dentist on days of some importance…Fingers crossed you won’t need any work done, otherwise you won’t be able to munch on the popcorn in the cinema as you watch Toy Story 3! :laughing:

Wow, did not realize the Toy Story 3 film was so close.
Awe man I can not wait for it, Wonder how crowded the movies will be?

Damn! Allready marked the 23rd on my calendar :astonished: Two days earlier is something though :laughing:

But seriously, considering TS is one of the biggest film franchises and this film is on a lot of people’s must see list, I’m suprised it’s not getting a simotaniously worldwide release date.

I’ve asked Lee Unkrich on Twitter what the release date is for the UK, because I know that myself and many others in the same situation as me are so confused at the moment! I’ve seen an advert on TV saying the 20th, an advert in the newspaper saying the 19th, though I know the original date was the 23rd. They apparently pushed it forward due to its high anticipation over here, but it doesn’t help if no-one knows when it’s actually coming out! Hopefully he’ll reply to my message.
