Here’s another video of Tom talking about it. Sorry if this has aleady been uploaded as i’ve just been skimming through this thread.
‘There might be. I hope there is’
Seeing as he said they’re keeping the story under-wraps, and how Lasseter in the other video giggled before saying ‘We haven’t announced anything’, especially how he said it.
EDIT. - Although I think that Pixar probably wouldn’t want the absolute last thing we see of the characters (seeing as they are Pixar’s most known and popular characters) is shorts. I think they’d have a big send off movie which they did with TS3, but seeing as they casually did a short it seems the characters aren’t done with yet. And i’m sure the temptation off a movie, as opposed to shorts will eventually make them do another movie. And with Lasseter’s and Hank’s recent interviews (including that one ^), the IMDB listing, I can see why people certainly think it’s happening. But that’s just my two cents
sigh As much as I want to disagree, I can’t. It really does come down to the money portion of it. They just want money (if the rumors are true). I’ve always admired Pixar because they never seemed to care about money. Of course they want to do well, but they’ve never been effected by the sequel temptation before. If this is true, I really can’t help but thinking that Disney is nosing their way into Pixar and forcing sequels on them. Blahhh
I agree with the general consensus. There comes a time when a series has crossed the line from making more movies to continue the story to making more movies to line their pockets. I am afraid to say it but I think that Pixar may be going towards the latter with this. Making Toy story shorts to keep the characters alive, great. Making a full length movie? A bit too much, I think.
Of course Pixar wants money! It’s what keeps the studio afloat, so they people there can do what they love- making great movies.
And the TS trilogy shows that TS makes major bank. So why not make a fourht? People WILL see it! But I hope they see that they can make money by doing original films too!
Ummm I think that’s kinda a blanket statement, don’t you think? Sometimes expanding on a world can be just as much of a challenge as creating a new one.
With Toy Story there are so many ways the continue making good movies. They could 3 more and just add the the legacy.
But I think it is time Pixar gets back to making more classics. I am excited about Brave. I think Brave will be a great movie. After monster U I want to to see more orginal movies.
Yeah, it looks like Pixar suddenly got more open to sequels after TS3 and it flooded a little. It’ll probably swing back to tons of original-only for a while and eventually find a nice middle ground. Pixar Canada getting up and running should also help to free some hands at Emeryville.
Whatever happened to the plan to do 2 films a year, anyway? Was it just not working or are they hoping to get back to that? 2013, right?
A forth Film Wouldn’t Be A Bad idea only if they went the Star Wars route,Like if they Shown How Andy Got Woody from His Father Which was never brought up in any of the films.
