Didn’t they deny Monsters inc 2 was in the works shortly before it was officially announced? Studios cant really be trusted when it comes to this stuff.
I agree. What would they do for a TS4? All your suspicans are probably just mind tricks Pixar is playing on you.
To my memory, they never denied MI2
But MI2 is better than TS4
The only way this is gonna happen is if DreamWorks (yes you heard me, right) were to do it and Pixar decided to make a better one.
And thats almost impossibe so…
Im having trouble finding direct quotes but a Google search does bring up results saying that they have denied the rumor repeatedly. I know Pete Docter denied it in multiple interviews, of course without direct quotes its hard to remember if his wording left the possibility of monsters inc 2 happening, just without him.
If I remember well, Pete Docter denied that HE was directing Monsters, Inc. 2.
But in fact, by the way he said it, it looked heavily as a hint that someone else was doing the film. The Pixar Blog, a site I follow, teorized that the movie was in fact in production based on that interview and a few other declarations, and they where right.
But maybe you’re right and they denied it and I don’t remember it.
I really hope to God they aren’t going to release a Toy Story 4.
Yes, I don’t recall that either.
Me too they dont need another one and like I said before, Pixar is probably just trying to trick us, all these things are NOT proven facts. When you get someone directly from pixar to say Yes, we are doing a TS4 than pull the rumors into it. See Pixar’s got alot of mysteries and rumors but they dont deny them cause what the fun after you do?
I think I may have mentioned this (or not, I’m kinda forgetful these days), but I remember seeing one of the taglines on the posters saying something along the lines of “The Final Battle” or “The End”… or one of the advertising copies (you know, those little synopses which they read out during promotional tie-ins during TV ads?). The way they were advertising it led many people to believe it would be a definitive trilogy (until they saw the final scene, but the way I saw it then was it’s just a way to perpetuate Jack’s myth in our minds… that he lives on to do further adventures in our imagination…).
Of course, the sequel was later announced, but I think it was not until a few months later. Most of the speculation around the release was merely that, speculation. Just like people ask if there will be a ‘Rio 2’ or a ‘Rango 2’ or a ‘Kung Fu Panda 3’ (oh wait, there is gonna be a Kung Fu Panda 3… and 4… and 5…).
Anyway, even if my comparison to ‘On Stranger Tides’ was flawed, I still believe that Pixar is milking the franchise too hard, and the last thing I want is a ‘Shrek Forever After’ conclusion with a whimper.
But of course, if this turns out to be a rumour, I will be very relieved.
Pixar Planet
I agree
Well at least youll get to be able to collect more collecters items
But i still wouldnt want ts4
I’ll be very disappointed in Pixar if this turns out to be true. They’ve always been about storytelling first, money second. I feel like if they make it, it’ll be because Toy Story 3’s the highest grossing animated film of all time. Really, Toy Story 3 ended the series. There’s nowhere else they can take it. Anything I can think of just sounds like really bad fanfiction. The whole reason for the Toy Story Toons was so that we could still see the characters occasionally without tarnishing the perfect trilogy. There’s no need for a Toy Story 4.
I agree with you Josh.
If this rumor is confirmed, I’m probably going to cry. And my tears will not be tears of joy.
It better not be true.
Agreed. If this is true I really don’t know what I’ll do with myself. The end to TS3 was perfect. Everything about it was so good it was almost unreal. I really, sincerely do not want this. And like TDIT said, I don’t want this to turn into Shrek. Please, God, no.
