I bet it’s Michael Eisner’s way of messing with Pixar Geeks minds lol. I just hope it isn’t directed by someone who isn’t Lee Unkrich, John Lasseter, heck, even Pete Docter would do the movie justice! Just as long as it is one of those three directors.
But I’d prefer for it to be left alone, like seriously, I think it’s just someone starting a little joke.
You are right… Toy Story 4 COULD be happening… But let’s face it we don’t know REALLY! I mean, I am a very big fan of PIXAR (aren’t we all?) and Toy Story is my favourite PIXAR film, but I do think that if they were to make Toy Story 4 it might be going a bit over-the-top with sequels. I mean, they’ve even made the new short for Cars 2 for Christ’s sake!!
I really hope that a Toy Story 4 does not happen! But if it is true I hope that they at least do it justice.
Originally I thought it might just be Tom Hanks joking or that he got false information, but now it seems like it actually might happen.
john lasseter was on BBC, and was asked about toy story 4 since tom hanks mentioned it…thats when things get awkward.
its at the 1:20 mark. bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-14184490
hmmmmmmm…i really think that this confirms it…because if it WASN’T happening, he would say no immediately without question… which would make sense to do.
You know, when Toy Story 3 came out, I loved it and it was even better than my already-extremely-high expectations, but I didn’t want them to make a 4th movie. I loved the idea of making shorts though, and it turned out great IMO. But now, the more I think about it, I’d actually really like if they made Toy Story 4. I completely trust Pixar and every decision they make. The first movie of theirs that I was skeptical about was Cars 2, and that turned out (arguably) fantastic. Seeing John Lasseter talking about it in a playful manner is, besides being hilariously awkward, a good thing. It makes me glad that he didn’t say “No, we’re not making a Toy Story 4.”
In the end I don’t think any of us will be complaining if it indeed turns out great. Its just a matter of how much do we trust them to pull it off. No matter how perfect the end of a movie seems, with enough hard work and thought put into it you can make it seem like it was always meant to be. to have audiences walk out thinking “yes, Im glad they made this sequel after all.”
Its just hard to trust that they can keep surpassing expectations like this. Even they cant possibly know for sure until its at the point of no return, and that’s whats so scary. I don’t think they should risk it, but if it pays off I’ll be very grateful.
What I wonder is why would Tom say that they are making a fourth film. He’s worked with the folks at Pixar for years, and I’m sure he knows how secretive they are about what they do. I also wonder if anybody had “words” with him. Especially since he’s TOM HANKS.
Oh my goodness… I just watched the interview and yeah, something’s going on. If they weren’t planning something big with Toy Story I doubt he would’ve gone “Yeah, I find that interesting, we haven’t announced anything yet, ANYWAY WATCH CARS 2 BECAUSE PART OF IT’S SET IN LONDON.”
By Johns Reaction i’m pretty sure Toy Story 4 is on the way.
But you know I would be interested if they used the abandoned Circle 7 Script it spiked my interest and at least they will have a story to go on.
Maybe they’re finding for an story, but they still don’t have one. So, if they don’t come across a good one, they simply will drop the project. Maybe that’s why it hasn’t been officially announced.
I just don’t think they can pull it off. I mean, shorts are one things, but an whole new story? IMO, No Andy = No movies. It’s pushing it that the toys, especially the 60 or so year old Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye have made it this far and lucked out on a new owner. Nobody wants to think of her growing up, and if they get another new owner or whatever, that’s just corny. It’s gonna have to be something similar in structure to the Circle 7 script, not involving the toy-owner relationship, but rather just an adventure with the toys. The problem, is you can only get so much out of that. I’d prefer the toy-owner story in 3, which has so much more emotion than they could put in 4, to be the closing.
Plus, after Cars 2 being so much of a different-feeling movie, this really does scare me. PLEASE DON’T GO THROUGH WITH THIS!!!
