Toy Story callendars, is it just me?

Is it just me, or are all of them really badly designed? Ive seen a number of them over the years, and they all seem to be targeted squarely at kids A huge contrast to how the franchise is meant to appeal to all ages. I just want a nice calendar that doesn’t look completely kiddy, or like it was just slapped together by some random dude in Disney’s marketing department.

Looking through the art of TS3 book I just got for Christmas, there is tons of nice pieces, many of them rarely seen, that would be suitable for a calendar. I just hate it when they just grab a bunch of clip art and toss in some fun fonts and colors and call it day. Put some effort into it. I know its just a calendar but Im going to be seeing it a lot, so I’d rather not have to cringe every time I see it.

This topic is mainly for toy story, but it applies to all of Pixar’s movies really. I think the only one I remember liking was an incredibles one, it was more stylized and interesting.

Im especially bummed this year because for the past 3 years Ive been buying calendars for each season of Heroes, but now that its canceled Ive got nothing to use as a backup for 2011.

I’m also bummed; I don’t really keep calendars up anymore- I mean Mum has a giant plain one and the photo/picture part is flipped around so its not seen.

Perhaps some of us could collaborate or get one made at Zazzle or something -Omar

Yeah, I remember that a couple years ago, there was a poster purely for the Art of Star Wars. THAT was interesting. Now they have 3D posters, still interesting. An interesting calendar would either consist of really cool images, or maybe something that hasn’t been released yet; which could be just about anything.

I agree entirely. The Ultimate PIXAR calendar with all the movies is the corniest, though. I hate the screen caps they use, the fonts, and everything about them. I had a Toy Story 2 calendar I loved when I was 5, but 5 is the key word there. They should have different calendars for people who’ve outgrown their diapers.

I understand what you mean. I got one for Christmas, and it is very kid oriented. But I love it all the same.
