Toy Story Double-Feature to be Released Internationally?

I was looking at a cinema website for an Australian cinema chain and while it says Toy Story 3’s release date for Oz is June 24 (I do not believe you, Disney!), it doesn’t show the double-feature release date for later this year. Also, In the US Toy Story and Toy Story 2 were put back in the DVD Disney Vault in preparation for it coming back to theatres, but in Australia they’re still on the shelves.

Is the double-feature re-release for the US only? If not, what other countries will be getting it again?

That’s a good question, I hadn’t thought about it possibly being for the US only. And I believe that the Toy Story DVD and its sequel are still being sold over here too.

I’m not sure, if I had to take a guess then I would say maybe worldwide since Toy Story 3 will be shown just about every where, right?

It makes sense to me because from what I heard one of the reasons as to why Pixar is re-releasing Toy Story is to draw in more people and get us old school TS fans as well as new ones, excited for the movie.

It went in the vault? So THAT’S why I couldn’t find TS and TS2 dvds. I hope it’s worldwide, don’t want anyone to miss out.

i heard about that i think its just the US. but it could be other places. im so excited!

Went on a Check last week lizardgirl Various retailers in Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot and Toy Story was off the shelf… Nothing surrounding the Disney Section nothing in the Animation and nothing in the chuldrens… Feature films Nothing…

Could this be the recall to the Vault and the green light for the Double feature?
Who Knows

Really, Captain Pan? That sounds promising. I only really check at my local HMV and the last time I looked (probably about a month ago) they had all the Pixar DVDs in a sale. But that might’ve changed by now.

Well it was HMV I went to, along with a WH Smiths and a Tesco. But then… I’m not really good at this stuff… alook was made only a week ago though…

However looking back to how the BBC reported this back in January (Friday, 25 January 2008, 16:07 GMT last update on BBC) it claims Toy Story for October and Toy Story 2 for February, with its final comment being that

So UK release may (and i hope it isn’t) be split… when obviously having The Double Feature for 14 days from October 2nd Would Suit The UK release for Up Perfectly!
But then who trusts the BBC these days?

Yeah, I don’t see the Toy Story dvds anywhere. I don’t remember when, but I did buy Toy Story 2 about a year or two back for myself… there were plently of copies of the dvd.

As for the 1st Toy Story I’m not sure. I don’t remember seeing it when I bought TS2. Funny enough a few weeks ago I went to blockbuster to rent a few movies and was somewhat surprised that they had Toy Story for only $20. I jumped right at the chance and bought it right there. A few days later my boyfriend and I went to the local mall to catch a movie and since we had a few minutes before the movie started… we hung around at the mall and went to FYE. (Sells, movies, posters, games, etc) While browsing around I saw a few copies of both TS1 and TS2.

So, I don’t know if it’s just certain stores, but there are a few copies of the movies floating around, but by the looks of it they are rare nowadays… least till the movies re-release, I believe.

Captain Pan- Oh, I didn’t realise so few cinemas in the UK show 3D films. Luckily my local cinema does, but it was built only a couple of years ago so it’s pretty up-to-date. I hope they don’t split the release but I guess they might end up having to. Though yes, the BBC seems not to be quite the reliable source it once was, so it’s difficult to tell at the moment.

Its in the Disney Vault? Wow. No wonder I didn’t see any Toy Story 1 or 2 DVD’s. A few days ago I went to the store, the only Pixar movies they had was 5 copies of Cars, and 1 copy of Toy Story 2. Could it be other movies?

Hey guess what I just found out?

I was looking up some information on the movie today when I came across this:

obsessedwithfilm.com/

Now scroll down till you see the Lego Buzz Lightyear or just hit

Ctrl+F and type in Toy Story.

Near the end of the article it says that it will have Toy story 1 and 2 in 3d in january for people in the UK!

It sucks for anyone who lives out there because it’s so far away from january, but it’s better than nothing. <3

God. At least they will show them to y’all. No TS1 & TS2 in 3D screening here in Malaysia. :frowning:(

According to reports from a friend (gained from somewhere…)

UK release:
Toy Story 3D: October 2nd 2009 (9 Days before Up)
Toy Story 2 3D: January 22nd 2010

So split feature release… means UK pays 2 times to see the 2 movies…
There is 3 months between those movies and then from Toy Story 2 - Toy Story 3… 6 Months!

That is correct. Refer here for upcoming Disney release dates: thefilmfactory.co.uk/pressoffice/index.html

The German release seems like ages away - May 27, 2010. :frowning:

I went to the cinema yesterday and to my surprise, aside from all the new Up posters around, there was also a poster for the 3D re-release of the original Toy Story! I can’t remember the release date on it (or if it had one) but it was just so great to see a poster of it. No mention of Toy Story 2, though.

Yeah, I saw something similar my theater, they had the box office glass decorated with green aliens. Its one thing to see promos and stuff online, but feels like Im in the 90s again when you start seeing promos in the real world. not to mention toy isles filled with new TS toys.

I’m also starting to see promos on tv about, only adding to the feel.

Toy Story 3 in Germany comes 30.9.2010 and the Double Feature at 27.5.2010.
I mean that is really late :frowning:

Well, Toy Story and Toy Story2 may be in the vault but you can still get the DVDs from your local library and from Amazon and eBay. So there are still ways to get the movies on DVD. Also I sure do hope that the Toy Story Double Feature is released in Canada because that is where I live. Although I don’t really know I could sit through 2 whole movies without having to go to the restroom! Perhaps they will have an intermission between the two movies? I bet that no one could sit through 2 full length movies without having having to go to the restroom especially after drinking lots of pop! ;-p
